That is the other issue at play here. The media in general HATES that defense wins championships, in any sport. Remember when San Antonio was winning rings playing the NBA's best defense? The only label the media slapped on them was "boring." Same principle applies here, only now the issues of SEC hate and BCS convolution are added to the fray.

They should really let teams play more than just one game a season. Basing the BCS CG bid on a one-game season seems kinda sloppy and haphazard.

Honest, serious question for LSU fans: Why is losing to the #1 team in the middle of the regular season an automatic disqualifier for the #2 spot at the end of the regular season?
According to Rick Reilly, the ONLY team you can lose to that disqualifies you from any consideration for the BCS Title game is the #1 team. A team could lose to NW Montana Tech or SE North Dakota Tech or Prairie View and still be qualified for the #2 position at season's end while a loss to the other BCS Title game participant is unforgivable. Think about how insane that logic is.

So Iowa State is better than Okie State and y'all think they are the number #2 team in the country? Kind of diminishes what LSU accomplished in BDS. With your logic, y'all better take care of Georgia in the CG or voters might not think your win against bama is a good win.
