I really think MSU is going to be the 'best of the rest'-- which means they're a Top 8 type baseball team. If that's knocking the Bulldogs, then I'm knocking 'em.

You see how this works now?

It's not about one fan base, it's about multiple....

Ours probably will be too. We finally have bats. Y'all are getting me fired up and we still have two months.

Historically, clutch hitting with men in scoring position is the number one difference between winning the conference and finishing second.
Which is the reason for this type of analysis. Most SABR analysts will tell you the "clutch" variable is extremely overrated if not a myth all together. One of the main reasons in comparing theoretical runs and actual runs is to gain a quantitative measurement of "luck" so that it can accounted for in assessments. It is always possible that there are additional variables that are going unaccounted for, but it's unlikely. If I have time after work I can run LSU's past few seasons to show you 2012 is not part of a trend.

The trend I notice is LSU winning the west more than anyone. And what makes this happen more than any other factor is timely hitting with men in scoring position.

Our hitters know when to put on their big boy hats. I question whether the rest of the west teams even have big boy hats. Let alone know when to use them.

1.) Arky
2-4.) Interchangeable between State, Ole Miss, and LSU
5.) A&M
6-7.) Bama & Auburn

A&M is in the definition of a rebuilding year. Need some new pitchers to step up in a big way (losing Wacha and Stripling hurts). Hitters sucked last year, even Naquin and Jacob House sucked in the postseason, so hopefully we can improve there with some new faces. I can't see them higher than 5 unless we find some lightning in a bottle with new pitchers.

You act like State returns a bunch of proven winners. They lost series to all of the top teams, finished 7th in a 12 team conference, and got put out of a regional with 2 losses in 3 games to Samford.

this

LSU and OM host regionals out of this group... Remember the name Sikes Orvis... Guy is gonna have a breakout year for the Rebels.. LSU is gonna be really , really good this season... I'd put the dawwwwggggssss at #1 or #2 but losing Stratt on Friday's will hurt bad... It kills me to say it but State is a sleeping giant... They may turn the corner this year and end up being a national seed if they stay healthy (never have under Cohen) and Wheeler develops into a marquee frontline Friday starter

No where even close. If you win the SEC west in baseball you host a regional and likely are a national seed.

That's fine and dandy.

Now what does what you posted in pics have to do with that?
