Bama should be ranked 20-25. This isn't a top 5 team right now.

I really wish that was the case. Talk about motivating a bunch of big, mean, ugly motherfrickers to sodomize their opponents.

It's going to be a wake up call when Ole Miss destroys Bama.

Yes, that would certainly require me to wake up.

Why the big difference from last year ? The secondary lost their best defender, they don't have a proven edge rusher, and they made a lot of average QBs look good last year. If the change is that drastic in 7 months, why didn't it happen before ?

You're probably right, this D is gonna be Charmin soft. I wouldn't even bother with worrying in the slightest bit.

Mel Tucker. Experience. S&C. Depth. I mean, aren't you guys banking on being better? Saban Ds at Bama finish top 5 more often than not. Feel free to bookmark it if you want.

Time to go see what Chest Tat got.

Define "good QB play". Because in our perspective, "good QB play" defines someone who has minimal mistakes and manages the game well. JPW had the worst of the starting QB's since 2008 with a 10-6 TD-INT ratio and barely over 1000 yards passing, and that team went 12-2.

I mean it's been every year sans AJs second and third year starting since 2008. We will be fine.

Why was the 2009 defense better than the 2008 defense? Why was the 2011 defense better than the 2010 defense? Experience. Both Cyrus Jones has 20+ starts over the past 2 years and Tony Brown saw action last year as a freshman. Take Dee Milliner for example. In 2010, he was highly picked on because of his inexperience and gave up a lot of yardage. In 2011, he improved and led the team in interceptions, and in '12, he was one of the best CB's in the nation. Dre Kirkpatrick was the same way in '10, then was the starting CB for in '11, which the defense led the nation in nearly every statistic. Cyrus's play was much improved, especially seeing he was making the transition from WR-DB. Along with that that, Mel Tucker's addition is reportedly helpful (though that remains to be seen).

Sims was good last year. AJ was good.

JPW or Gmac level qb play won't be enough. Gmac lost 3 in 2010 with better talent around him. Forgot whether it was Gmac or JPW in 2009, but bama should have lost 3 that year and didn't even face a team as good as AU or UGA will be this year. UF in the SECCG was overrated and lost a revenge game.

Bama will need good qb play to have a shot at UGA and at AU.

I agree, and Auburn will need a defense to have a shot at a Alabama!!!
