re: Alabama Fans, when we win "#16" can we just keep the claim at 15?

1925, 1926, 1930, and 1941 are all retroactive and garbage claims. To argue differently is to be a bama fan that doesn't care about the legitimacy of the claim in any of those years. Simple as that.

When it comes to college football, you are, and always have been, an idiot.

Did anyone know that Princeton and Yale claims all of their NCs?

Bro - How many times you been on here pimping for '83, '93, and 2004 railing on about the injustice of it all....
'41 may be some crap but the others are legit....and why don't you tell us who should be champ in '66 and '77?

Bama claims those off of the Rose Bowl trophies that were awarded minutes after those games were played.
Then claim the Rose Bowl trophy, not some bullshite national title. Those Rose Bowls never featured the best teams in the country in 1925, 1926 or 1930. To claim the Rose Bowl was some defacto national championship game is ludicrous.

Thank you for sharing your completely unbiased opinion, you turd.
Now go hide back under your rock, wondering what happened to the GUS BUS and how Bruce Pearl could be taking so long to turn around auburn basketball.

Fair enough but the Rose Bowl trophy is not a major selector in the eyes of the NCAA.

Drop 41 add 45 and 66.
I'm all for dropping '41 as it's an embarrassment that we ever claimed it...but I'm not for adding '45 or '66 since no major selectors (and only 1 or 2 minor ones) voted for us those years and we'd look just as petty as our '41 claim...
We may have gotten screwed in '66 but that's the way it was done back then. As for '45, don't know if we could've hung with Army that year...that Army team was loaded: 2 Heisman winners at RB, 5 shutouts, beat 4 top 10 teams (we didn't play any), and their closest game was 19 points against the other service academy...the service academies had the majority of the talent in the latter war years...

They are relatively justified in those claims considering the state of football at the time and the fact that 54 of the 55 claims between the schools are pre-1935.

this might be a good time to mention my thread where I lay out in detail why Bama only has 5 or so legit titles...

There's never a good time to mention stupidity.

Based on what? Winning the Rose Bowl as the 8th team that received an invite after all the top teams said no?
I guess all the other Rose Bowl winners from back then are national champs too, huh?
Teams like:
Washigton State
Oregon
Mare Island US Marine Corps
Great Lakes US Navy
California (2)
Stanford (4)
USC (9)
Columbia
Harvard
Oregon State
Pittsburgh
And so forth. I'm sure all those schools claim national championships for all those games too. USC claims 17 national championships? (the 9 from the old rose bowl wins and 8 from the 1960s on)?
Wait, they don't? It is just dipshit bama fans that suddenly started claiming titles over 50 years after the game was played?
Yep.

No, because lsu needs to be able to claim the 1935 basketball national championships. When Bama, ole miss, and Arkansas claim their football national titles it allows lsu to claim its basketball title.
Lsu is a full year entertainment ride because lsu has won national championships in football, basketball, and baseball.

Perfect examples: Miami vs. Washington 91, Colorado vs. Tech 90, Nebraska vs. Michigan 97, USC vs. LSU 03 and so on. You can never know who would truly win any of these games, you can only guess.

Oh yeah, chickens revisionist history on claiming titles that the AP or UPI awarded. Yeah, never a good time for that thread. You should delete it.
