I'm all for dropping '41 as it's an embarrassment that we ever claimed it...but I'm not for adding '45 or '66 since no major selectors (and only 1 or 2 minor ones) voted for us those years and we'd look just as petty as our '41 claim...

We may have gotten screwed in '66 but that's the way it was done back then. As for '45, don't know if we could've hung with Army that year...that Army team was loaded: 2 Heisman winners at RB, 5 shutouts, beat 4 top 10 teams (we didn't play any), and their closest game was 19 points against the other service academy...the service academies had the majority of the talent in the latter war years...

You don't know if any team could win a game they didn't play. You can debate it all you want, but you can never truly know. Perfect examples: Miami vs. Washington 91, Colorado vs. Tech 90, Nebraska vs. Michigan 97, USC vs. LSU 03 and so on. You can never know who would truly win any of these games, you can only guess.
