Alabama Fans, when we win "#16" can we just keep the claim at 15?

Seriously can we just drop claiming 1941. It makes ZERO sense.
9-2, 3rd in the SEC and 20th in the AP poll.
After we win this Natty we don't even really have to change anything. All the sidewalk fans can keep their "got 15?' shirts or whatever. A few tattoos may have to get covered up.
Any way you count National Championships we have more than anyone else.
So why claim such a ridiculous title?

Alter or not, I agree. All the mocking and whining about Bama's title claims would lose any legitimacy if we stopped claiming 1941. It is a ridiculous claim built on a very dubious title by a secondary poll.

Not me. It was unfair and ridiculous, but you can't claim a title that wasn't awarded to you. That's auburn logic. In the poll era, you win the national championship by being #1 in one of the major polls, not by a combination of record and logic and "should have".
We did everything necessary to CLEARLY be awarded the national championship in 1966. But we weren't, so we're not.

Exactly. As I said earlier, we should top claiming 1941. And we don't have grounds to add 1966, despite clearly deserving it.

Whomever the frick B(QPRS) and SR are, they awarded Bama the title in 66. Its good enough for me
