Game of the Century

for aggy maybe. for bama is was the conference opener. "games of the century" are usually played in Atlanta not east texas.

Exactly. The only reason it was big for them is because game day crew(ESPN) showed up so I can understand how it was their shining moment in CFB.

I think it is great aTm had their moment because at the end of the season they will not get an opportunity. Sort of like the kid that sits the bench most of the season but the coach tries to find that one opportunity to play them and have their moment. So hats off to aggies you have received your participation ribbon.

The game lost some of its luster when A&M gave up 900 yards of offense to Rice and Sam Houston St.
Also for a game to be billed as " game of the century" both team have to at least be ranked in the top 5.

Alabama played LSU in the game of the century in 2011. Unless we've restarted the century, that one still stands. The two greatest teams in college football that year traded blows in a legendary game.

It is yet to be seen if even one of the two best teams in football this year played last weekend in College Station.

Right. #1 vs #2 and both teams had dismantled every other team they played.

It's also further and more expensive. I doubt they'll be able to make it.

We wait to spend our money on SECCG and BCSCG appearances. Regular season road games are just kind of "whatever". But hey, congrats on a September game being the biggest in the history of your program. Impressive stuff. Sorry we had to go and ruin it, but I'm sure you guys will have fun playing in the Cotton Bowl again.

So you have an apathetic fan base that doesn't like to travel? I'll accept it. Not everyone cares about football

Why make a trip to the Starkville of Texas when the original is only 60 miles down the road? Both end in Ws anyway.

Regular season game in September was the biggest in the history of the Aggie program.

That must be tough.

Historically our SEC opener was Vandy. More recently the SEC opener was Arky. This year the opener was aTm. The aggies are just the first SEC game of the year and no more important than kicking off the SEC slate with Vandy or the piggies. What does matter is we came away with a win.

It was a good game. It was entertaining. It was still just an SEC game where the reason to play is to win. If you don't win then I guess you have to look for other things to talk about. Just be happy you did not drop too far in the ranking. Maybe you get a second shot in January - that game would be in consideration for "Game of the Century" this past weekend was "The Game" we happened to be playing that week.
