not really, there was still alot of discussion about the basketball team, coaching, and the directions of the program, it just wasnt very joyful.

but I just find it odd that grown men care about college softball so much.

I remember when Mo Isam (or however you spell it) was up for Nissan or Gatorade or something player of the year or something. There were multiple threads on the tiger rant and SECR saying vote for Mo. So y'all like women's soccer huh?

what your basketball fans did?

The consistent ones on this site (including myself) were still around. Hell, some of them mainly post on the rant during basketball season.

And there have always been game threads for every game, with periodic threads discussing the team and games as well.

Behind football and march madness, softball is the most exciting college sport to watch in my opinion.

sounds like the fan of a college with a crappy baseball team. If you're baseball program was going to regionals and supers on the reg, you would enjoy the games. Heck, yall might even pack 6k in the stands.

we still had game threds on basketball and people whined, bitched, and complained. And LSU news sites that are ran by fans, ie rivals and TSD still covered the team not matter how bad they did. Your's cant say the same

We can say the same about basketball and lord knows we've had our rough patches in that sport. The reality is that while Bama fans do care about baseball we probably don't care as much about it as LSU fans. I don't see why that pisses off LSU fans so much or why they think that means that Bama fans can't celebrate success in another sport like softball. LSU has a very passionate fanbase when it comes to baseball, but I don't hold it against LSU that their fans aren't as passionate about football as Bama fans are. Probably just due to the fact that your football program hasn't been as successful and doesn't have the rich tradition that Bama's does.

Too much discussion, not enough attendance.

2012 SEC tournament in New Orleans....

I'm the first to admit if our baseball team was any good, I'd watch and support them. I still think softball is more entertaining at the collegiate level and I know a ton of other people who feel the same way.

Right. It's just a little odd to me personally. Not that you do or should care what I think about it though. Carry on.

For me it is a matter of school pride. I dont really like any sport other than football or basketball, but I want Alabama to do well in all of them. And I think we can all agree that if you have a vested interested in a sporting even of any kind, you can usually watch it with some sort of level of anticipation, and lets be honest, anticipation is the heart of what makes all sports great. They are all about what is going to happen on the next play, shot, serve, pitch, etc. etc.

To me baseball/softball is the most anticipation based sport on earth to watch. Which also makes it the most un-enjoyable sport to watch when there isnt a team competing that you care about. Even as someone that doesnt normally enjoy it at all, once you add in a team that I care about, I can then enjoy it at least enough to watch or keep up with it.

And ANYTIME an Alabama team is in a position to bring home some hardware for our athletic department, I am interested.

You can call me whatever you want, the fricks I give honestly wouldnt fill up a gnats arse. But the one thing I most certainly am, is an Alabama fan.

And I've also seen thread where several LSU posters agreed that LSU would keep CTJ around along as he was a .500 coach and didn't get in any trouble because at LSU basketball just isn't that big of a priority. Sounds like a pretty apathetic fanbase to me...at least when they're not having a great season like '08-'09

That had to have been a pretty small minority, because the vast majority wanted Trent to leave.

quite a few bama fans in this thread are listing baseball after more successfull womens sports, which is a joke.

I'm not dogging bama for being happy an NC. Obvisouly any sport winning an NC is gonna peak interest, it's more about dropping your baseball team like a bad habit after 1 month of bad baseball earlier this year. Then the majority of your fans claiming baseball sucks and womens basketball and softball is more interesting.

just go start a troll thread if you want to get into that.
