That punt by Wing possibly saved the game.

For some reason, this is the play that stood out to me as the pivotal play of the game. I don't know if you were there or not, but you could almost feel the momentum about to shift Bama's way. I could feel the tension coming from the LSU fans a section over. LSU was pinned deep late in the game and a decent return could give Bama great field position for a scoring opportunity.

In the end, the objective posters on this site were right. And it was what I feared all along. The game came down to field position/punting and LSU had an advantage in that area. Their ability to flip the field won the game.

did you know that the 46 yd fg was the longest fg the entire season? they dont know how close they came from only scoring just 3 points

Did you know that Foster hit a 45 yarder against Tennessee. He's hit +40 several times last year so it wasn't like he couldn't do it. That's why Saban sent him out there. I wouldn't have made that choice considering LSU couldn't do squat with the ball.

Yep. But it was still winnable. All Saban had to do was not get greedy in OT by trying to pass on 1st down.

how many has he hit from 40+ this year?

honest question because I've read he was 1 of 7 from 40+ (excluding the LSU game)

LSU had 157 yards with 6 minutes left in the game ,Bama had 305

What happened in those last 6 minutes? BAMA WAS GASSED!!!!!!!!!

The game is 60 minutes long and you need to be ready for OT. BAMA QUIT!

Better in that they were gassed and out of breath for the last 8 minutes of the game?

How does a gassed team keep another team from crossing their own 45?

The punt return by OBJ that was called back would have helped get us in field position, called back because the HB tomahawked Dre and he flopped like a lil bitch. We didn't move the ball, punted, then your boys were DONE. Bama's O couldn't stop the rush, Bama's D couldn't stop Michael Ford. GASSED!

He's only called on to kick 40+. He only had 3 attempts before the LSU game this year and he hit a 45 yarder. Kent State and Ole Miss he tried a 50+ and that is definitely out of his range.

Dose that punt return happen without a foul ? LMAO

Yep. Just like you scoring if you don't have all of your penalties. Works both ways.

I'v heard people on TV say it too and they look like idiots. Even if Alabama did dominate guess what?.......they lost. BUT, it does show how close the game was and LSU fans should realize either team could have won it. Most on here do appreciate how close and hard fought it was but some think LSU beat the shite out of Alabama. Either way, LSU is a great team and in great shape for the rest of this year and the future.

Wait, so you are telling me that the closest Alabama got to the LSU goal line was the 17 ??? Yet in the same breath quitly asserting that Alabama outplayed LSU ??

The result for both teams were the same except LSU got even closer. What does that say about your offense?

Can't cross your own 45. Gassed?

Ford got to the 7 after LSU started from the 25. Tried 1 more time to punch it in before having to kick a FG. Gassed. Sure.

If you break it down into quarters, it's an even game.

By quarter:
LSU Run: 12, 51, 31, 37, OT: 17
LSU Pass: 24, 32, 16, 14, OT: 0

Bama Run: 44, 27, 3, 53, OT: -5
Bama Pass: 38, 40, 35, 44, OT: 2

Total yards by quarter:
LSU: 36, 83, 47, 51, OT: 17
Bama: 82, 67, 38, 97, OT: -3

Alabama wins 1st and 4th
LSU wins 2nd and 3rd

LSU wins OT.

LSU wins.

considering Alabama led most of the game, this is BS.

I also love the rationale that LSU's mistakes proves you're better. You won a game in overtime by a field goal. You deserved it that day. Most objective people realize that the teams would split a multi game series pretty evenly.

See you on January 9. The winner of that game will be BCS Champions whether the fans like it or not.

well, if he's only called on to kick 40+ then he only made one all year before the LSU game... because he looks like he is 2 for 9 this year on attempts

LINK

last year he had better numbers from that link... but I don't know if that also means he did shorter field goals last year

This is what is complete bullshite. LSU has to beat Bama twice to win the National Championship. I would be fine with it IF we played two more games, best 2 of 3.

Winner takes all after LSU has already beaten BAMA in their own house is just BUUUUULLLLLLSHHHHHIIIIT.

He only attempted 3 before the LSU game. 2 were over 50 yards. He hit 1 from 45. Not too many NFL kickers going to hit those consistently.
