Yeah Bama should be looking NIT this year with the future looking promising once Avery gets his guys in there.

We're on the verge of being ranked right now.

Highly doubtful. I haven't looked but I feel confident in saying Bama hasn't received any votes.

Wins vs. Wichita St, Notre Dame, and Clemson. We'll probably be ranked if we could win our next two games against Winthrop and Oregon.

Too early to tell what is realistic. For certain, they are much better than could have been reasonably expected given that they lost the top 3 scorers off last year's team.

Avery Johnson has them playing with confidence and the offensive flow is better than it ever was under Grant. On the down side, losing Ingram is huge. He is a mismatch nightmare for foes and now we must make do with a mismatch nightmare (Coleman) for us. Also, the only reason Clemson was in it at the end tonight was because Bama's post players - particularly Taylor - failed to finish at least half a dozen open, point blank looks. Taylor missed several that looked like he could have dunked. Unless they get that fixed, they are going to live and die by the outside and transition games.

In a nutshell expect both a few more surprise wins and ugly losses. I'd say a NIT bid would not be unreasonable.

Again, highly doubtful. Basketball is totally different animal than football. I mean look at USCe. They're undefeated and unranked.

This year?

Won't make the tourney and won't sniff being ranked. Bama has played two decent teams (one is ranked) and lost by about 20 and 30 points.

Recruiting looks to be going well and next year, bama may be decent though.

Probably accurate prediction but so far we are exceeding all expectations for this year. We are already sniffing the top 25 so I have to diagree with that.

Yeah because who you play matters. Bama has 3 straight quality wins and their two losses came to other good teams on the road and in a neutral side. Xavier looks REALLY good.

three wins vs three ranked teams and you don't see why we should be ranked in that scenario?

We've got a goddamn former NBA coach of the year on our sideline. No one should be all that surprised that he is finding success in college basketball.

That's because your a fricking hater. Nice win against northwestern state, see it's not that hard to complement a rival. Your mad it's funny.

Well, suppose I stand corrected on the being ranked part. Don't see it as very likely to happen, but does look like bama is within sniffing distance for the moment. Don't think it happens though, but again sniffing distance.

Avery isn't the issue. It's that the team isn't very talented and can't score.
