South Dakota State is the kind of team I hate playing fwiw, i.e. they can shoot. We're kind of iffy as far as that goes.

No doubt. Somtimes these close games early can send a message to the team as well as provide some momentum

SDSU will more than likely be in the tournament this year. That's not a RPI killing win for Bama in the least.

Yeah, it's actually the type game that really boosts RPI.
Mid to lower majors that will win a ton of games, play BracketBusters and likely represent their conference in the tourney from their conference probably help RPI even more than they should. . .
