Aggies and Mizzou fans: Differences between the SEC & Big 12

Just curious about your observations from your first season in the SEC. What are some things the SEC is better at and what are things the Big 12 is better at? Anything you particularly miss about playing in the Big 12?

Not speaking on behalf of the fanbases of these two schools, I would imagine both of them miss the regional rivalries

There's not much to miss. Other than Texas, we just hated Tech but it wasn't really a rivalry, and had Baylor pawing at us to try and start a rivalry with them. That was it. Would give it up again 100 times over.

No one really misses that, although having a few more wins would certainly be nice. Glad to be here and hopefully we can at least become a middling SEC squad.
The only thing I miss is having the yearly Nebraska game, but that was already gone anyway. frick kU, hope we never play them again.
SEC is clearly the better conference when it comes to quality of play, campuses, travel destinations, academics, women, etc.

I can't think of a single thing the Big 12 is better at. From PR, to negotiating contracts, to pretty much everything they are subpar to the SEC. They think very reactively and the schools do not get along or care about the betterment of the conference as a whole with a strong delineation of the haves and have nots. A&M and Nebraska basically aligned to keep Texas in check to an extent but once NU left the sips went nuts, it's basically just the Bevo 10 now. OU lost all leverage when they tried to go to the Pac 12 and failed, now Texas slaps them around like a bitch as well. Most of the schools are simply too weak to do anything because none of the other major conferences want them.
It's just dramatic how much better run the SEC is. Just spend 5 minutes on the SEC website and then 5 minutes on the Big 12 website.

I was alluding to the fact that many of your fans preseason claimed that the SEC wasn't really that much better top to bottom than the Big 12.

I'm gonna miss playing on Thanksgiving. Not because we played texas, but because I liked playing on Turkey Day. Just a really special part of growing up for me since my Dad is an Ag as well. To me, Thanksgiving is:
--Macy's Parade in the morning
--Cowboys in the afternoon
--Thanksgiving dinner
--Aggies at night
Also miss the road trip to Waco to play Baylor but only because I used to live there and have a ton of friends still in Waco. Also because it was virtually a guaranteed W

I do genro, it's been a meat grinder of a season. Hell if we can just a QB who's somewhat competent and a real Oline next year we will be fine. Our defense this year has been pretty damn good, minus the Bama and SCar game.

Fanbases and stadium experiences are much better (save a few exceptions like Kentucky, Vandy and MSU).
Refs are just as bad.
Telecasts on CBS >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Those on Fox and ABC
LSU fans are Tceh fans with more success and without the herp.
Bama fans are Texas fans with more success and less gay.
Missouri is a misfit toy.

If you take last year's SEC and Big 12, 3 of our 5 most played opponents are in the Big 12 (texas, tech, baylor), and 2 are in the SEC (arky, lsu)...Soo...we trade the top 3 for #4 and #5.
texas will be on our schedule again whether we like it or not in the next 5-10 years, so were talking about trading baylor/tech for LSU/arky. No brainer which option we prefer.
The Big 8 schools in the Big 12 we have 0 history with, and have only been with them for 15 years. The Okie schools and Kansas schools aren't any more or less "regional" than schools in the SEC West are to us.

yep...if texas had 1 NC in the 90s and 2 in the 00's they could be as arrogant as they want. 1 in the last 30+ years is better than anything we have, no doubt, but not top 3 program in the country worth.
