Fanbases and stadium experiences are much better (save a few exceptions like Kentucky, Vandy and MSU).

UKFB has plenty of fan support, the lastest dip was a boycott to get the coach fired.

I don't miss a damn thing about the XII. A&M should have joined the SEC eons ago. We are much more similar to every SEC school than we ever were to any of the old Big 8 schools. The SEC is much better run, top to bottom. The fans are much more knowledgeable about their schools, their rivals, and just college sports in general. I would say that Nebraska was the exception to this. But understand that we had little to no history with any of the North schools. Also, Tech didn't join the SWC until 1960, so we have more history with Arkansas, and about as much with LSU.

Someone posted above about how Tech and tu fans threw batteries, ice, and other objects at our fans and team. tu would also mock The Corps with a "hail hitler" salute. Totally classless. You just can't miss this.

I will miss our rivalry with tu, despite their fan behavior. I honestly thought that they would continue playing it on Thanksgiving, OOC. However, they won't play us. Too bad. I don't care if we ever play Tech or Baylor again.

Again, we should have joined with Arkansas in '91. Sorry it took us so long.

I don't miss a single thing from the Big 12. That was a bad fit for A&M from day one, and I go to my grave thinking that was part of the reason for our lost decade (coaching being the other part).

The SEC and not playing Texas is changing this program for the better. The future is so bright compared to spring 2011 when the LHN rolled out.

I miss nothing, and always thought that A&M should have joined the SEC when the SWC dissolved years ago as they were originally planning. Damned state politics.

Just curious about your observations from your first season in the SEC

The presence of a web forum that allows you to converse with fans of other teams regularly makes it very easy to dislike other conference teams, and the fans of other conference teams.

Besides that, we lose a lot more.

I miss (or would if I was much younger) Baylor females. The t.u. game I think Aggie youngsters don't have the same appreciation for since the bonfire disaster. It isn't possible to convey to people who weren't there what a huge deal bonfire was. For one thing, it directly resulted in me spending an extra semester at A&M
My secret hope since 1975 has been for some evil-doer to set off a nuke in Lubbock, and I don't miss them in the least. Truly wretched fans.
The rest of the Big 12 I never felt a connection with; that was just a marriage of convenience.
I'm all in for the SEC move. Great for A&M, hopefully great or at least good for the SEC, and anything that puts t.u. in a foul mood has to be good. Also, living in MS now, I'm ground zero for an annual road trip by my classmates, so that's all good.

It's no comparison. Yeah it sucks being 4-5 but c'mon. We have 4 losses to 4 teams that are currently in the top 10. Wouldn't find that kind of competition anywhere else. The Vandy loss sucks but so be it. I'd rather take our lumps, improve the program in the best conference in the country than arguably do better in a weaker conference. Besides, how do you beat having home games or traveling to teams like Florida, USCe, UGA, UT, Bama and yes, even Kentucky and Vandy.

To more specifically answer the question, yes, bigger, faster and more athletic, particularly the defenses. Much more conference pride, although quite honestly I don't know if it's everything some claim it to be. Seems some preach it others let it go by the wayside.

The Texas fans during and after the game were talking about how our stadium was louder than theirs. That surprised me.

You'd be shocked at what shitty fans they are. Ya'll's atmosphere blows theirs out of the water.

Not going to lie.. I wish we still played all the texas teams in all sports. We have a lot of history with them.

I miss kicking baylor bear arse even when we suck. I'll miss calling their field, "Kyle Field North" because we always fill their stands up with maroon..

I'll miss the family ties to tech and texas..

What the SEC is better at:

Fans...
Pageantry.
History
quality
Sharing
promoting
Southern way of life

I think the SEC is better at kicking our arse than the Big 12 was.

That and the toilet paper is softer and the girls are hotter.

Before Texas A&M was in the SEC, I only saw them play about once a year on television. That was usually a game on Fox Sports Southwest. That station is on channel 416 on Dish, so I usually never make it that high. Seems like they are on every week now and on relevant stations. I would think that at least the Aggies appreciate being televised.

3 of our 5 most played opponents are in the Big 12 (texas, tech, baylor), and 2 are in the SEC (arky, lsu)...

The Big 8 schools in the Big 12 we have 0 history with, and have only been with them for 15 years. The Okie schools and Kansas schools aren't any more or less "regional" than schools in the SEC West are to us.

I agree with all above we only had three real historic rivals in the Big 12 (tu, tech, baylor)... in the SEC we have two historic rivals (Arky, LSU). Not much of a drop.

Plus the conference is just better

Oh man... don't for a second think that we don't appreciate nation wide exposure...

I left that off because it was very obvious.

Aggies are on course to being a relevant team in the SEC annually. Don't see how any recruit could choose Horns over Aggies if they are watching their games on TV or especially attending them. Atmosphere, weekly big games and style of play should play well for Aggie recruiting in Texas.

Honest... once the SWC died we should have gone to the SEC.

The only thing I could say is that trips to Austin and Waco were nice since they were so close.

I have been going to games in Waco for years and years...And even though young aggies started the rumor we never had more than 20% of baylor's stadium filled up with aggies. And that was during their terrible time in the Big 12, they used to give us a good fight back before 1996, after that they took a major dive in football.

The 50-60% numbers are hiliarious but they are pretty far off. But yea we won a whole lot there.
