It's a combination of Auburn still getting credit for playing Clemson close and bettors having no faith in A&M given their recent history.

Did TAMU get a whole new D Line? They had the worst rush D in the SEC last year. Auburn rushed for 311 yards against them...while JJ was playing QB. Their guys can rush the passer...everyone knows that...but when have they done anything to indicate that they can stop the run?
ETA: slowing the rushing attack of UCLA and Prairietown. Got it. Auburn indeed has no chance.

My question is how will Trevor Knight handle playing in JHS at night. When he was at OU, he probably didn't have to play a road game in a stadium like JH will be Sat night.

Your defense might be good, but we don't know yet. Clemson looked terrible against Troy for Christ sake. You just demolished Arkansas State. I honestly, is there really enough there to tell everyone how amazing your defense is?

Nobody said it was amazing. Going into the season, the DL was thought to be as stout as any in the Conference. Nothing yet has shown that to be wrong. The LB play has been greatly improved. The CB's are locking down their man. That freak of a WR for Clemson won them that game. He was covered all night. He just made plays. The biggest improvement has been tackling.

This could almost be said word for word about A&M this year. The only exception in the lock down CB play.

It isn't really about being objectively amazing, but amazingly improved.
We are also much deeper defensively than I can remember in a long time.

UCLA averaged over 5 YPC in 2015. They had ~5.5 a carry last week. A&M held them 3.1. I would say that is fairly significant.

right now UCLA is 82nd rated Def and Arky State is 127, I believe.

Arkansas State actually has a good bit of talent on their D. Including 5* DT Dee Liner, former Bama player. UCLA is not a good defense. It's not a stretch to argue Arkansas State has a better D.
