Thats fair. I'm anxious to see how our run defense holds up. We look drastically better thus far (Yes its early, but even the cupcakes would knife off occasional 30-40 yard runs every now and then). If we can't control the run, then the game will end a less extreme version of last year.

Also need Knight to be a little more dependable in the passing game. There will be a lot less wiggle room for errors this week.

I like for us to cover, and hopefully win, but I wouldn't touch this game with an actual bet

Bad bet, but I dont believe you laid any money on this game.

Bottom line is neither team has a solid idea of who they are or what they are capable of.

Both teams are in the exact same spot in that regard. The only plus is A&M is 2-0.

I believe they are as identical as any two teams can be in terms of expectations. Both feel good about their defenses and their offenses can be really dangerous if in sync or can make mistakes to cost them pints and games.

Should be a very good test for both teams and Vegas is giving AU the favor because it is home.

I glanced at NCAA team stats so far for ATM and AU, we're both pretty close in most major categories. Should be an entertaining game for all.

Right on.

What is weird is all the back and forth. For both teams the last few seasons this game wasn't such a big deal.

Indeed. Execution will be the name of the game. Capability-wise, it's basically a dead heat from what we've seen.

Aggies +3.5 at Auburn

My biggest concern in the game this weekend is can our DB's keep the passing game in check and can our OL hold off A&M's DE's.

Highlighted the critical part for you. :-) Last year you guys put on a clinic on holding on just about every play and not getting anything called.

I think the Aggies get it done and the Gus Bus reaches peak temperatures.

I think discussion is ramped up because this game is a crucial game for both teams. It is an important victory to both teams hopes to be a part of the SEC West leaders talk.

It is also the opening game for SEC play.

Lol, all teams hold and yes there will be more this game. Our OT's are still a question mark for me. I am not sold on them yet.

Like Roger said if they called every hold on Garrett during games it would be a 6 hour game. They just can't do it for the sake of time.

Watch all the holding vs Lawson. It happens to all the good D players.

I didn't even realize Garrett played against Auburn last year until I looked it up after the game because he was so invisible.

INVISIBLE!? Your LT tackled him every god damn play! Difficult for an Olineman to lead his team in tackles, but yours accomplished that feat.

Agreed, just want the egregious ones to be called (both sides of course but my team never holds )like the one a couple years ago where Garrett got tackled.

This for real? Hope so because I just laid a good chunk on it

You act like AU fans came up with this spread. Show us the ticket where you placed a big chunk, something tells me you won't.

You're think of 2014. I'm talking about last year, and in not sure Garrett recorded a stat against Auburn last year. Shon Coleman owned Garrett. When Coleman struggled in 2014 he was just coming off of chemotherapy treatments. So Garrett beats up on cupcake teams and cancer kids.

The only thing we know about these two teams is this:

Aggy
UCLA had no business being ranked. Aggy got on top of them but could not put the game away. It is a problem that could be the story of this season for Aggy.

The PVAMU game demonstrated that the defense is "improved" from the week before, maybe, but it's still hard to tell, given the inferiority of the opponent. The offense (Knight) struggled to get into a rhythm. If that happens at Jordan Hare, we are toast, period.

Aubie
Clemson seems to be a legit team. Auburn was in the game until the final tick.

Arky State does not appear to be a very good team, getting spanked hard by Toledo last week, which makes this game mean about as much as A&M's game against PVAMU.

Keys to Victory
For Aggy, the key is to get in an offensive rhythm early. Get on the board in the 1st Quarter to allow a balanced attack throughout the rest of the game. Aggy must also have no glaring weakness in any phase of the defense. If the run starts working for Auburn like it did for so many of Aggy opponents last year, the game is over. Auburn will force Aggy to sell out to stop the run, leaving somebody wide open.

Auburn has the ability to cram the ball right down Aggy's throat and open up other phases of the offense. They should heavily test the Aggy D on the ground. On defense, Auburn needs to rattle Knight. He is not as poised as we wanted him to be, and if he starts getting happy feet, the mistakes will start to pile up. Stop the run and harass Knight.

Prediction:
Aggy faced a soft UCLA team with a weak rushing attack. Auburn plays "big boy" football with bigger, stronger players. Auburn will be able to run on Aggy like last year, and Aggy will have no answer for it. Auburn puts on a clinic on how to beat Aggy that everybody else uses.

This game is the nail in Aggy's overrated coffin. Aggy struggles to reach bowl eligibility.

I hope I am wrong. I just know how motherfricking Aggy football works. There is no reason to suspect that this season will be any different than the past 60 years.

frick all of you. Die in a Goddamn fire.
