DePalmas for a great Italian dish
yeah! no love for depalma's in this thread. we went there last time and it was quite good. good food. good service. lunch prices weren't bad. i would definitely want to hit them up again.

also, i'm a family man in my 40's and i think athens looks like an interesting place to live. the neighborhoods around town that i saw looked charming. my wife liked the shopping so i know there are things to do other than get trashed bars. athens is one of the coolest places i've ever been to.

Athens is a fantastic place to live. Only problem is you'd better already have a job nearby or have one set up through the university, otherwise you won't be living there long.

I feel like Last Resort is where everyone sends out of town guests and family but never go themselves. I mean it's not bad food but it's hardly the best athens has to offer anymore. The National, The Place, Teds Most Best are all better spots

You're going to love Athens. Before you leave drop by any downtown package store and buy a couple or three cases of Creature Comfort's Tropicalia. You can thank me later.
It's a beautiful day in Athens.

Great town, just waiting for everyone to get cleaned up then going to the Trappeze Pub for, dinner before bar hopping. Definitely had fun at the game and didn't encounter any rude fans

It's that thing where two jacked up midgets paint themselves orange and you have to parallel park between them.

Yes to all of those. Mayflower is still there and has the same man cooking that was there in 95. Just a lot more gray hair.

I was trying to think of the bar's name that was upstairs near Taco Stand on Broad St.. Started with a G. Never mind....it was Gus Garcias.

We ate a lot at Ronnie B's and Wilsons Soul Food. There was a place called Plantation Buffet just out of Downtown on College St that was damn good as well.

If I ever moved my family to Athens, I would love to have a home somewhere in the neighborhoods from where Alps turns into Westlake Drive down to Five Points by the Athletic complex. There are some very nice established neighborhoods all through that area. I think Dooleys house and Loran Smiths house were down there.
