I could dig dropping the permanent and implementing the yearly rotation. Would certainly seem fair.

I'd love this setup. Feels natural like the A&M addition did (Missouri did not and still does not).

Probably won't happen, but would be fun.

The East would be scary good if/when Florida and Tennessee recovered. That would give the east 5 really strong teams. The west would become the weaker division unless Ole Miss can continue to improve, A&M can figure it out and OU remains a strong program.

Biggest issue is they bring no value

This. Oklahoma doesn't bring any TV market that SEC wants and doesn't already have. Ok City is like the 43rd ranked TV market.

You are missing part of the equation here, OU would bring a lot of TVs from around the country.

Well I try not to live in the past. With regards to conference expansion and realignment, I certainly wouldn't factor in Tennessee as the 3 most powerful team in the conference when they haven't been relevant since Fulmer left. Tennessee would probably be the 4th best program in the east as the conferences are today behind Georgia, Florida , and South Carolina. If you added in Bama and Auburn then Tennessee would be the 6th best team in the east

Any school academically below us should not be added to the SEC

That we can't charge any more for.

We already have nationwide fees associated with the network, the only additional money ou and OSU would generate is the difference. And it might barely cover one school but it certainly won't cover 2 schools

We would all take a pay cut

Now Hawgeye made a good point about extra revenue from bowl games and NCAA tournament so those are definitely things to consider but won't come close to making up 35-45 million

The numbers just aren't there, Oklahomans already pay for the sec network

They were great to do a home and home with.

Their fans were very passionate and it felt like an SEC Environment and you could just feel the CFB history.

They seemed to really respect their visit to Neyland as well.

I am all for adding Oklahoma, just think it is very unlikely to add two in one state.

I think in a bind we could convince OU to leave OK St and try for a better revenue option for the second addition.

I think OU has Legislature issues with OSU, making them hard to separate. Their issues are totally different than A&M and tu.

No such legislature issues exist. Bad rumor.

OU and LSU fans would develop hatred for each other very quickly. Both would develop fun rivalries with Arkansas

I already dislike them. They can't take their arse beatings like men.

You are obviously trolling if you think TN would be considered behind SC moving forward for divisional strength.

TN is just a hair behind Florida and Georgia for perceived strength long term for the East.

Would you have said Bama was 3 or 4th in the West in strength moving forward in 2006?

It really does feel like a pretty good fit overall in terms of the map and the layout of the divisions, both in competitiveness and individual yearly matchups.

More teams? good lord. we already have 2 too many. we'd play in athens every 16 years or so now.

You don't understand, the Dallas market already pays the sec FULL PRICE. They can't pay anymore

So you'd have the SEC in the East and a bunch of bullshite schools in the West. Makes perfect sense.

IF they have the package that has the extra ESPN's and SEC Network. You gain more money in the Dallas metro because of OU being in the SEC when their huge alumni base now cares about spending just a bit more money each month to get that package.

Directly, you gain the #45 large tv market and the #61 large tv market in the nation. Those two rank ahead of 10 other SEC markets in the large tv market category.

So yes, you gain quite a few dollars from adding those two markets you did not have. Combined, the Tulsa and Oklahoma City market adds about 1.3 million tv sets. Now they have a reason to have the SEC network if their states major schools are in our league.

The combination of the two tv markets would put 1.3 million inside the top 20 of national tv markets, which is what you want to see if you're the SEC network.

Arkansas cannot combine to have that size tv market
Louisiana cannot combine to have that size tv market
Mississippi cannot combine to have that size tv market
South Carolina cannot combine to have that size tv market
Alabama cannot combine to have that size tv market

No trolling at all. What in gods name has Tennessee won to add any validity to your statements??? If we are ranking teams as of right now then Tennessee is behind Alabama,Lsu,Georgia,Florida,Auburn,Ole Miss,South Carolina , and just slightly ahead of Arkansas and A&M
