Pretty clearly solves the East/West problems we always bicker about.

Alabama and Auburn can move east and the West is still a pretty formidable division.

WEST
Oklahoma
Oklahoma State
Texas A&M
Arkansas
Missouri
LSU
Ole Miss
Mississippi State

EAST
Vanderbilt
Tennessee
Kentucky
Alabama
Auburn
Florida
Georgia
South Carolina

Pretty much splits perfectly on the map too. Makes perfect geographic sense, fixes all the rivalries, allows a division + 2 rotation games in other division 9 game schedule. Oklahoma and Okie Lite have close games with Mizzou and Arkansas, could develop good games with LSU and re-kindle A&M series.

Obviously it won't happen, but it's interesting that it really does make things pretty symmetrical.

I like the look of this layout.

The shift of power would move to the East.

Yep, I was thinking the same thing.

And it preserves the longstanding rivalries (bama/tenn and Auburn/UGA)

It really does feel like a pretty good fit overall in terms of the map and the layout of the divisions, both in competitiveness and individual yearly matchups.

Biggest issue is they bring no value

All sec teams will have to take a cut in tv money to let them in

We are not a charity. And the sec wants to elevate it's academic standing not drag it down

Historically speaking that would make the top part of the East much tougher IMO. But we would still have the 3 "worst" programs so it may even it out.

1. Alabama (East)
2. Oklahoma (West)
3. Tennessee (East)
4. LSU (West)
5. Georgia (East)
6. Florida (East)
7. Auburn (East)
8. A&M (West)
9. Arkansas (West)
10. Ole Miss (West)
11. Missouri (West)
12. Oklahoma St (West)
13. Miss St. (West)
14-16. SC, Vandy and UK.

I wouldn't mind it except for I'm not sure I'd like having two newbs in one division.

Both schools bring a lot to the table as well.

For years the east has been the dominant division in basketball with Kentucky, Florida and Vandy. OU and OSU both bring respectable basketball programs to the west.

Both schools also put together respectable baseball teams. I like the fit.

We get it, A&M fans like being able to laugh at the BXII (specifically Texas and Oklahoma). You guys aren't going to be for anything to gives Oklahoma a life raft.

In terms of 2016 reasons for adding teams it probably won't hit enough of the necessities to add programs. However, they are one elite and one pretty decent athletic program and they make the split work really well. Not a reason to do it, but interesting to look at.

Are OU and OSU not decent schools? I would have thought they could hold their own academically. Where would they rank in the SEC academically?

I'd rather keep playing LSU and Ole Miss every year than have Okla in the conference.

Yea, I thought they would have been better than that. I figured OU would be on par with UGA/Florida/Bama.

I like both Oklahoma schools personally.

I actually like the Sooners, cowpokes, and both their football coaches are two of my favorites.

I also like their people.

My statement was just about money and value. I know they both have very respectable athletic programs, despite the grief I give Charlottesooner on here (he's really a horn you know)

I think OU is probably about on par with Alabama. I think things are going really well at Alabama, but we aren't on the same level as A&M/UF/UGA.

I think, from everything I've read, Oklahoma is probably in that general pretty good not great public school group that most of the SEC is in (Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee, Kentucky, Arkansas, LSU, South Carolina).

I don't know much at all about Oklahoma State, but my assumption was always that they compared pretty favorable to Mississippi State.

I like the split.

Bring both of the schools over. Let's do it.
