Offense? Are you serious?

Bama, with giants like WKU, Western Carolina and Florida Atlantic averaged a whole 18 more yards a game than ND.

You play football. Just not very well. Hell, I'd give Mizzou a 50/50 shot against ND and we sucked.

Not sure. Ask em. I am just pointing out facts. ND, who's offense is getting bashed..only averaged less than 20 yards per game than Alabama. They have two QB's with playing time.

Not playing rent a wins along the way.

Edit. Went and looked. They have 4 QB's who have thrown the ball, 15 WR's with catches and 9 players have carried the football.

It'd probably be Mizzou -3.5 in Vegas if you played ND.

you think they will be within 20 yards of Bama's offense in the BCSCG?

I would love Notre Dame to win but I don't think it is going to happen for two reasons...ND doesn't run well enough and you have to run a decent amount to have any shot vs. Bama...
ND 's WRs aren't good enough to exploit Bama's only slight defensive weakness their secondary... They'll play man coverage most of the game and dominate...I'd be surprised if ND scores more than10...

The fact is, ND's offense is just not very scary. They have an underrated ground game, but the passing game is not very strong, and their red zone offense is horrendously bad. They are #76 in the country in RZ offense scoring on 79% of attempts or 46-58.

They've only scored TD's on 27-58 trips into the RZ which is #113 in the COUNTRY!!!

The only reason they are where they are is because of a meh schedule and some very very very clutch play from their defense in the big games they did play.

Their TD came when Thomas blew by Niklas and sacked Golson who fumbled in the endzone which the Cardinal recovered. Stuff like that can't happen against Bama.

oh, it can.

ND likes to run up the middle.
Bama will force them to the outside like what USCw did (and their D was terrible)

They will force Golson into 3rd and long and that's where he makes all his mistakes

ND should have lost to USCw if Kiffin wasn't the worst play caller

They were in the Red Zone all game long.

ND was in the RZ and couldn't punch it in

FG's won't win this game for the Irish

I just hope Golic's kid gets roasted all game so we can here the excuses from Sr on M+M

ND is 65th in the country in RedZone offense. No way you score a TD unless our offense justs give you one. And they don't do that very often. Bama will score at least 1 or 2 TD's with a bunch of FG's mixed in. Our offense is very balanced. I see a 19-6 game.

And don't wish on the TO Gods. A freshman QB is much likely to TO than a veteran NC QB.

Your argument shows you either don't really know about the teams ND played or you are being disengenous.

Western Kentucky's (one of the rent-a-wins you say Alabama played while saying that ND didn't play any) computer ranking was a good bit higher than Wake Forest and Boston College. I don't think you realize how bad those teams were that ND played.

Hell, even Florida Atlantic's computer ranking was comparable to Wake and BC.

Western Carolina is certainly an outlier but, as expected, Alabama was playing the second half of the roster pretty much the entire second half (as they did in many games) whereas ND was usually going to the wire with teams and having to leave their starters in.

Point is the schedule strengths were actually very close (and they both played some really bad teams) while you are trying to make it seem like the reason for Alabama's statistical advantage is because Alabama played scrub teams and ND did not. That's just not true. The only difference is that Alabama made scrub teams look like scrub teams while ND was often struggling to put inferior teams away in the 4th Quarter.

Finally, 20 yards a game isn't exactly a nominal difference over the course of a full year. And why focus on yards instead of the more important stat - scoring offense? Alabama averages 12 points more per game, which is a big difference over the course of a full year. Difference in 15th scoring offense and 74th.

Like you said, just the facts and stuff.

As I see it, ND had 2 good wins over Stanford and Oklahoma. They had a decent win barely beating a Michigan team 13-6 who Alabama destroyed 41-14.

After that they beat 6 lousy teams in Navy, Michigan State, Miami, BC, WF and USCe. They barely beat 3 horrible teams in Purdue, Pittsburgh and BYU.

Alabama on the other hand has destroyed all but 3 of their opponents, #7 Georgia, #8 LSU and #9 Texas A&M. I would suggest that those #7, 8 and 9 teams would all beat ND as well.

On a final note, Bama is bigger than they list. No way Teo is 6'2" 255. He was barely bigger than Manziel at the Heisman presentation.

Bottom line is I don't know if it won't be close on the scoreboard but it won't be close on the field.

The American public may have heard of Purdue, WF and BC but that doesn't mean they weren't more pathetic than a Western Kentucky or Florida Atlantic.

Another over sensitive Bammer.

ND didn't play rent-a-wins, and Bama did. Do you disagree with that???

You obviously don't understand what a rent-a-win is.

ND's running game averaged 5 YPC. Bama, who many think has a stellar running gave averaged 5.6

Go ahead and bash their offense if you choose, but it's based on sheer ignorance if you do.
