had Kirkpatrick as their 103rd ranked cornerback in the NFL (out of 104) with a -9.8 overall grade. He had a rough day matching up against Jeremy Maclin, but I think, after rewatching all of his snaps, he is better than that grade makes him seem.

That article was also from like 10 weeks ago.

You do know it's not good for any def to have a safety that leads the team in tackles. Football 101

Earl Thomas had near or above 100 tackles in 2011, '13,'14. Kam Chancellor had near or above 100 tackles in 2011, '12,'13.
Eric Weedle had near or above 100 tackles in 2008,'10, '12-'14. Harrison Smith had at or near 100 tackles in 2012 and '14. Even Ronnie Lott had a couple of all-pro/Pro Bowl years in each he made around 100 tackles. A safety having a lot of tackles doesn't always mean the player or defense is bad. So it isn't football 101.

There is nothing about TM that is relevant to the topic of this thread. LSU fans brought him here and continue to talk about him because of the inordinate level of insecurity that comes along with being a fan of LSU football and the seemingly immense need for your collective dicks to measure up to daddy Bama.

NFL is a passing league. If your safeties and DBs are leading tacklers, they are getting picked on.
This is probably the funniest and most spun comment.

A league that's pass happy means your DB's are bound to lead in tackles. That's not "getting picked on", when there's an incompletion, NO ONE makes the tackle.

A run happy league in which the safety leads the team in tackles is much, much worse, because that means they are consistently allowing them to blow through your line into the 2nd and 3rd levels.

Quite the anomaly with so many Bama busts.

I would say the fact that they keep drafting them trumps an article from a few years ago.

I bet I can name more Bama pro-bowlers than you can name Bama busts.

Go ahead...

You know there will be a disagreement on who's a bust or not. So what's the point?

I think there are only maybe a few players that could even rationally be argued a "bust". The list of impact players is substantially larger.

He's a bust. A terrible safety. He was such a bust he switched positions. Bama doesn't get credit for his success at OLB
