Landon Collins, Ha-Ha Clinton-Dix, and Mark Barron all leading their teams in tackles. Rashad Johnson leading the Cardinals in interceptions.

Landon Collins has 86 tackles for the Giants - 20 more than the next closest player.

HaHa has recorded 90 tackles - leading the Packers by 25 tackles.

Mark Barron, now playing OLB for the Rams, has recorded 105 tackles on the year following Thursday night's game. He's gone from being considered a possible bust to being one of the best OLB in the league. 6th most tackles in the NFL this year.

Rashad Johnson leads the Arizona Cardinals in interceptions with 5 on the year, to go along with 58 tackles - good for 4th on the team.

It's usually not good when your safety leads the team in tackles

Now he is. He had been playing a hybrid LB/S role.

Collins has been very up and down this year so I wouldn't say he's lighting it up.
HaHa has had a decent year. Barron's doing great in his new role.

Depends on the system. For example, Landon Collins' primary role in NY is run support.

I'd say leading your team in tackles by 20 is lighting it up for a Rookie. Especially as much as he plays in the box.

I only watched about a minute of the game last night, uniforms were awful, hated that yellow

but Barron made a great play on a sweep inside the 10, lit up the RB

Have you watched the Giants play defense? All jokes aside tackling was never a knock on Landon Collins as a safety. He has always been good at that.

It's not good in terms of the quality of the overall defense. Why would care about how good the Packers and Giants D are? We just want our guys to kick arse.

Just because you have a lot of tackles doesn't mean you're doing well. He's struggled in coverage a lot. For example, he could make a tackle on a recevier after giving up a 20+ reception to him.
In HaHa's situation, his tackle numbers aren't misleading. He's PFF top safety aginst the run.

This. It means the guys up front aren't getting it done, but it also means your Safety isn't missing a lot of tackles.

The problem with Bama dB's in the league has always been their coverage abilities. They all go into the league being excellent tacklers

In the Pros, were they throw way more than in college?

Collins has always been good against the run. I was surprised how many tackles he missed against the Dolphins. He is a liability in the passing game though. Maybe that is why the Giants are dead last in pass defense.
