Agreed, Sark proved he could take that talent and get it done and he did. O'brien is a big step backwards IMO. First off he and Saban will lock horns often and 2nd will be his play calling abilities. i would not place him in the same realm as Kiffin or Sark.

We'll see - nobody would put Kiffin 2013 or Sark 2017 in the same realm as current day Kiffin/Sark, either.

Kiffin was coming off an absolute disaster offensive season at USC before his short season when he was fired on the tarmac. That team had senior Matt Barkley, Silas Redd, Maruise Lee, Robert Woods and Nelson Agholor. They scored the following
- 14 vs Stanford
- 27 vs Cal
- 24 vs Washington
- 13 vs Notre Dame
- 7 vs Georgia Tech

Then in his 5 game stint in 2013 they scored 7 vs Wazzu and 17 vs Utah State at home.



Sark was LAUGHED AT after his time in Atlanta (though those of us who actually watched Falcons games quite a bit saw a huge jump from year 1 to year 2 and that he actually did a damn good job).



So, we'll see. It's easy to look at 2021 Sark/Kiffin and say BoB isn't the same, but "day they were hired" Sark/Kiffin were very much in the same boat at BoB.

All 3 of them are respected offensive coaches who had massive success when only given the responsibility of scheming the offense. All 3 of them failed when they were handed more responsibilities (Head coach for Kiffin and Sark, Head Coach AND GM for BoB).
