Final score was 7-3 Auburn. Defensive slugfest like 2 hammers hitting each other.

Of course, this happened too:

quote:

LSU filed a complaint with the SEC over two calls the refs made after the game. Late in the game, Zach Gilbert was flagged for interfering with Early Doucet deep in its own territory. The flag was waved off because officials deemed that Eric Brock's tip of the ball made it uncatchable. Another controversial fourth-quarter call went Auburn's way when LSU's interception on third-and-29 was negated because Daniel Francis was penalized for interference on receiver Courtney Taylor, giving Auburn an automatic first down.

I think that was the year where both teams were not the same after it. Both squads just beat the hell out of each other.

I remember that play. The pass was tipped and our DB made a hell of a smart play.

I remember the play on Courtney. LSU DB just mugged him.

It was a well officiated game.

I thought of this play last week when LSU was bitching about the PI being tipped.

I remember that game. The picked up flag for PI during the late 4th was such BS imo.

What a great day that was for SEC football. UF @ UT came on right after and we won 21-20.

Only way Auburin wins anything of consequence is by either cheating or dirty play. Or both.

So THIS is where LSU's chirping about the refs comes from. Hmmm, not surprising at all.

I’m more pissed about our offensive game plan that day

Obviously the LSU player was fouled before the ball was tipped...I admit that the refs were in the bag for Auburn that day.

Before the 9-6 GotC, this was the most physical SEC football game I had ever watched. A lot of nasty arse hits in this one. I know we were robbed rabble rabble rabble but the fact that we could only muster three points with the number one overall pick at QB and 2 first down receivers is just mind boggling. Nice one Jimbo.

People say LSU has no traditions, but they invented crying about the refs and do it more and "better" than anybody else.

Mid 2000s LSU vs. Auburn is a GOAT stretch of rivalry games.

Auburn won on the scoreboard. Yes, all that matters. But Auburn got the worse end of it from LSU. LSU beat the frick out of Auburn physically. Auburn was tough and laid the wood too but LSU was on another level of physicality. Tuberville remarked about how beat up Auburn was after the game.
