Man I went once when it was first starting to get good press and had the daily curry(which was red). I left unimpressed. It was fresh was was pretty woefully under seasoned.....even for American standards, much less Thai. That and the size of the place fricking sucks. But it keeps on keeping on so I figure I need to give it a second chance at dinner and read up on what they do well. Everyone has an off day.
That being said, Drunken Noodles and Red Curry Beef at Thai Phooket are always solid, so its hard to go anywhere else.

also, Edley's bbq is so frickin fiya
Ive heard nothing but goodness about Edley's from people who know BBQ. I just went to Lockeland(on the list) for the first time the other night. The Niman Ranch Chop is the best chop Ive ever had.....period. Other stuff was decent.......chop amazing.

I have been to Snack Bar in Oxford before. Have to say I was not impressed. The steak was bland and the only Caesar salad they had was with kale. I think Lenora's or Mcewen's is much better than Snack Bar.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy Edley's, but Martin's BBQ on Belmont Blvd...

I did not see Besh's August and La Provence. Both awesome places. Quail Gumbo and Duck at La Provence is the best.

Kimball House in Decatur got their best new restaurant for 2014. It's damn good. If anyone's familiar with Brickstore, it's a group of guys that worked there for a long time that got backed by the owners of Brickstore and Leon's and they're absolutely killing it. Really good guys too, so it's nice to see them doing well.
is it sad I never walk that far in Decatur

Commander's Palace is no longer a top 10 place in nola
Maybe, but what is the list's criteria? It's not just food, right?
The atmosphere and service @ Commander's has always been among the best in NOLA. The place is an institution and arguably the most famous restaurant in the whole city.

Domenica MAY crack a top 25 list
I don't think it should be on the list either, but it has the best pizza I've ever had, so I accept it. It has been racking up the awards in the last 2 years as well. However, I would put La Provence and August over it, so I agree to some extent.

They have 2 Donald link restaurants, yet not his best one (Herbsaint)
I think both are great, picking between the two is splitting hairs. Obviously Cochon is the more "known" between the two, but the list isn't exactly picking holes-in-the-wall.

Dude you ever been to Martins when they're doing whole hog and had them open up the pit? I don't know if they do it anywhere other than the one in Nolensville(the original).
fricking WORK OF ART

The Capitol Grille? There is one in any big town. That one is stupid. It's not bad, but it's not top 100
Not part of the chain. It's the restaurant in the Hermitage Hotel that Chef Tyler Brown runs. It's legit and deserving of this ranking. Personally, I'd put Husk on the list and drop Pinewood Social.
Also, IMO the best Thai in Nashville is at Thai Esane and King Market...

Good stuff.
I'd have to say City Grocery or Boure are better options than Snackbar in Oxford, but that's just me. Kind of surprised Walker's in Jackson didn't make the list.

8 in atlanta? I counted very quickly but only saw 7 in new orleans.
And 6 in Birmingham. Imagine if Birmingham wasn't the cultural wasteland of chain restaurants and fast food that LSU fans on here say it is. Or maybe New Orleans just isn't as good of a food scene as it's billed up to be?
For the Auburn folks there was also a place in Alex City on there.
I found it odd that the #100 on the list is from Baltimore and this is supposed to be a southern list. And there is so many from Virginia and I was just in Alexandria 2 weeks ago and people there were joking about "the south"
