I'm trying to think of a couple more places I ate up there, but the names evade me.

And it's a joke that Drago's didn't make it.

Just took a client to Gun show last week. Place is on and popping. Dropped over $300 on 3 people so don't go if your not OT rich.

100 best dishes and Drago's is a slam dunk, but outside of the chargrilled oysters, having lobster and fried seafood isn't going to make you place on lists like this

Without a doubt, Houston is the most interesting, far-ranging, delightful food city in the South—strike that, in America—right now. There’s a confluence of a post-Katrina Creole population, traditional Southern staples (biscuits, barbecue, pimiento cheese), diverse multinationals (Vietnamese, Korean, Pakistani, Mexican), fertile farmland, easy access to the Gulf, and a general yearning to make a culinary mark.

only saw 7 in new orleans

In her defense she would have to go to ALOT of restaurant's in NOLA. I can think of about 50 that should be on this list and I'm on the very short end of that number. Of course, I'm from NOLA and think the food scene here is ridiculous.

Peg leg is decent. The ribs would be great except they season them after the smoke. Who does that?

I had heard of Bacchanalia when I lived there, but I didn't go out to eat much myself.

sounds like texans who boil crawfish in water then sprinkle seasoning on the shells once they're cooked.

havent been to this one yet, but it sounds interesting. There is no menu
It's Kevin Gillespie's (from Top Chef) newest place. Been once, pretty awesome. He rotates the chefs pretty often from what our table-mates were saying. Definitely will go back

Sorry - I was used to seeing Louisville for Kentucky and accidentally passed it over. I'll get it added.

I love Texans but they really can screw up some Cajun and Creole food.

I was hoping you were trolling by insinuating that New Orleans is in some sort of different class from Atlanta in terms of great restaurants, but I'm afraid you weren't.

Per capita, New Orleans is hard to beat, but in terms of just the number of outstanding restaurants, acting as if Atlanta doesn't compare favorably is pretty dumb.
