I agree with this completely, but I'm not real sure that happens. We've all seen Pelini go off on officials and the media (and his brother on TexAgs cameras), but do his player's get an appropriate arse-chewing? With Boom we know the answer to that question.

Boom is my first choice, but I have no idea how realistic that is.
#2 - Narduzzi, but he's already being mentioned for Michigan HC.
#3 - Venables

Why not?

I think we're in the mix. I think we are throwing big $$ at him. It won't be easy for him to turn us down.

Because he has a better connection/history with Auburn and South Carolina is offering $500,000 more than we are. He's not coming to A&M.

What are we offering? How do you know? I have a very very hard time believing we are getting outbid this time around.

Just a hunch. I will agree we are in the mix, it is just a bad deal of the cards for us when you consider the other options Boom has. I wish I could feel confident we were front runners. I don't think we have offered, but the bidding failure last time we went shopping for a DC doesn't give me that confidence.

I will be honest, this is almost making me see why Texas liked the LHN model over the SEC Network model. Sharing is great and all but it would be nice if schools in poorer states like Alabama or South Carolina couldn't easily match money-wise anything we throw out there.

Actually....take that back....the LHN is never a good idea. I need some coffee.

I was about to say, this is some heresy right here

I hear your larger point, though.

But still, go swab the decks. On principle, you understand

I'd rather have some other tangible (and intangible) qualities that drew coaches here. How's that "we buy what we want cause we're Texas" model working out?

$1,500,000.

SCAR is offering $2,000,000.

I hear what you are saying, it does suck to come in with a gigantic offer and have a program with less money like SCAR outbid us. That said, and we all agree, the LHN was s turrble idea that has damaged their ability to be SEEN and made them a pariah, without anything to show for it.

USCe increased their coaches salary 1.5 million last year alone. (700K to OBC, 600K to assistants). Now you think they're going to up it around ~1.5 million after a shitty season. I do not see that being likely at all.

I will always call the LHN the best thing that ever happened to Texas A&M.

Seriously. If nothing else, it was the official straw that broke the camel's back and gave us the leverage we needed to make the best athletics move we've ever made. Idk if we SECede otherwise (I don't like to think of it).

Alright after more research I think I'd rather have Foster over Muschamp. Not that I'll complain about either. Brent V too.
