Heard this on the radio this morning. UAB has been trying to build an on campus stadium for year but University of Alabama Systems Board of Trustees have blocked their efforts.

I say good for them for taking control of their Athletic Department and pushing towards #freeUAB

UAB doesn't succeed because they are located in quite honestly the shittiest city in the southeast sans downtown Atlanta.

Seems like a no-brainer, doesn't it? You would have to ask Paul "Bear" Bryant Jr. why it isnt a feasible option

Sounds good to me, as long as the System isn't paying for it.

A $70 million brand new stadium on a constrained budget for a fanbase that averages 15k per game?

Yes, total no-brainer

I don't see why they aren't teaming up with the city on the dome project. If UAB committed to anchor the dome it would have been built years ago it seems.

Eh, they don't succeed because it's largely a school without serious fan interest or money that is attended by career-minded folks.

Birmingham is fine and obviously preferable to Tuscaloosa outside of the campus area. But UAB has no "campus area" for the reasons above.

I bet you cant even give 2 legitimate reasons why Bear Bryant was a piece of shite that isn't "he was a raging drunk" or "a redneck wife beater"

Douche.
