If MSU goes 9-3, is Mullen to UF a real possibility?

Mullen has ties to a very successful period in Florida's history and SEC head coaching experience. It wouldn't be a bad for IMO.

Possibly but I doubt it.

If he can get MSU to 9 wins, UF should back up the truck. They'll get him too, if they want him.

i think so ... i've always thought mullen is underrated ... he's done a decent job at msu with what msu has to offer, resource/recruiting wise ... as much as msu is a part of sec history, it's probably the hardest place in the sec for recruiting/resources ...

Yes. If that is the direction they go.

Doubt it. From what I've heard, Mullen isn't very popular in Gainesville. Plus he and his wife love Starkville. He'll be there until he gets fired or a program like Ohio State or Texas come calling.

9 wins basically means beating Arkansas and Ole Miss

If Mullen goes to UF would that open up Hudspread panic or would State try to pull a coach outta nowhere like Ole Miss did with Freeze.

Why would he leave for OSU or Texas but not UF? I think he is a possibility, but he doesn't have a great reputation as a recruiter in Florida. I think he would have been the target last time around if we really wanted him.

Don't give a frick what MSU n Mullen goes this year.

He is an excellent coach and would be in my top 3 for UF if they decide to fire muschamp.

He is clearly a better recruiter now then.

He is a good coach in my opinion.

Dont think State will hang on to him if they have a 9-10 win season.

Florida though? Dont know.

9-10 win season this year doesn't matter to any intelligent ADs.

People who know football have known Mullen is an excellent HC for years already.

I am sure he has already turned down offers for more money to stay at MSU behind the scenes for several years now.

I don't know the story here. Anyone know the back story of why he is not high on the UF list...is Foley not a fan? I think Mullen is a good coach and seems pretty likable and think he'd be a good get for UF.

Perception is important.

Agree.

Maybe. I wouldnt doubt he has had "some" offers but his stock will rise with a run in the SEC with MSU and so will the quality of the offers.

I do remember after they lost to us in '08 some Florida fans were calling for his head. Plus he was recruiting Tebow and nearly lost him to Alabama before Urban stepped in.

Mullen isn't very popular in Gainesville, and not popular among high school coaches in Florida from what some big Florida boosters have told me. No clue what the back story is, but they have said he will never be HBC at Florida even though they admit right after that he is a very good coach. There must be a story here.
