We're 4 games in and this is like the 2011 offseason already.

If Mullen leaves, it'll be within the SEC. Plus, he's cocky enough to stay here and put his name on this program. He's stated this countless times.

I know coaches leave like a thief in the night, but he's had chances outside conference.

For the record, I will be surprised if Mullen leaves anytime soon.

I think because that's 2013 it includes the buyout money they were paid to pass on to the previous employer

Regardless that's a shitload

You do realize he didn't say that right?

I don't mind Mullen, but I would imagine that if Foley wanted him he would have gone after him once Meyer left.

I say no for the simple fact that no SEC coach has been hired away to another SEC school in like 15 years.

That's what I thought. You get caught mid-spin and you disappear.

I imagine Mullen is top 3 on UF list, but he's not leaving State for Florida at this point. He's finally got our program getting near where he wants it and his arrogance won't let him leave. Not to mention his wife loves Starkville (happy wife happy life), and pay won't be an issue. He's perfectly content and has no reason to risk anything.

Mississippi State will NEVER lose a head coach over money. Bookmark it, write it down, add it to your permanent memory, and be sure to let me know when someone pays the $10mil/yr it would take to prove me wrong.

More money there than people think. From what I've been told, the new baseball stadium was paid for in full before they made the announcement. Not to mention we pay Collins a healthy assload for being DC.

Huge hypothetical... but if Mullen left I wouldn't mind hiring Collins as Head Coach, and paying a lot for a good OC.

The juice would be unimaginable.

And MaroonNation is full of shite (per usual) about it being OM fans starting all of the Mullen rumors about being disliked in the state of Florida. It's been nothing but Florida posters pointing those things out.

And the Miami incident came straight from Miami

I would be pissed if we didn't. Everyone talks about Hud but, honestly, Collins is a hell of a coach. You can't quantify the mental impact he has on our players.

I don't know. I'd like to think 3 million a year would make the pool a little deeper.

He isn't leaving. He makes $3 million a year +incentives, he will get a raise at seasons end probably and can do whatever he wants. He'd be a fool to leave to the mess in Gainesville

Although I don't think he'll leave MSU, Florida is a MUCH better attraction to a head football coach than MSU.......I mean, it is what it is!!!

Mullen will leave for another school one day, but it won't be for Florida.

On the surface. But it depends on what you want in life. Gary Patterson at TCU? Gundy at OK St? Snyder at K-state?

Mullen makes the same as Muschamp. Who's shoes would you rather be in professionally?

I think Hugh Freeze is in the same situation. I really don't see him leaving ole miss on his terms.

I can't see Michigan wanting to go after Mullen. I think Mullen is a very good coach but he is not "a Michigan Man" and I can't see a pompous big ten school "lowering" themselves to recruit an SEC coach. Just my opinion.

What was Franklin? Or even Meyer (one year of fake illness doesn't make him a non-SEC coach, really.)
