Him or Spurrier. If Sumlin can do that for TAMU he should make the list eventually.

I think James Franklin should be wayyyyyyyy up towards the top of the list. What he did at Vandy was simply amazing.

Depends what you determine to be a "better" hire. Landing a coach that everybody already knows is an excellent coach or hiring someone that is not well known who turns out to be great.

I know you're trolling, but LSU from its football beginning up to 2000 was still a far more accomplished and prestigious football school than aTm is today.

TAMU is a tradition rich school, but to date none of them are really rooted in being good at football.

This, and I think South Carolina's hiring of SOS should be second.

Saban was an easy choice for Bama, and getting him was just a matter of money.

Maybe. Maybe Franklin just benefited from the rise of the SEC as a whole (I don't know the answer, just posing the question).

Lets see what he does at PSU.
