Saban to LSU should be #1. He took a program with no football history and turned them into the football giant that Les is still riding today.

Him or Spurrier. If Sumlin can do that for TAMU he should make the list eventually.

I think James Franklin should be wayyyyyyyy up towards the top of the list. What he did at Vandy was simply amazing.

Depends what you determine to be a "better" hire. Landing a coach that everybody already knows is an excellent coach or hiring someone that is not well known who turns out to be great.

I know you're trolling, but LSU from its football beginning up to 2000 was still a far more accomplished and prestigious football school than aTm is today.

TAMU is a tradition rich school, but to date none of them are really rooted in being good at football.

This, and I think South Carolina's hiring of SOS should be second.
Saban was an easy choice for Bama, and getting him was just a matter of money.

The only coach who should be above Carroll is Saban.

Maybe. Maybe Franklin just benefited from the rise of the SEC as a whole (I don't know the answer, just posing the question).
Lets see what he does at PSU.
