Well, we'll have to wait and see. Dobbs showed some flashes for a true freshman last year. I've been hearing good things about our current QB commit Dormady. Who knows

2014 - 5 and 7 (I just don't see 6 wins this year unless you can beat UF)
2015 - 7 and 5
2016 - 8 and 4

Everyone is saying 6-6 for 2014, but that means they'll have to win two (2) games from:

@ Oklahoma
@ UGA
Florida
@ Ole Miss
Alabama
@ USC
Missouri

Who will it be? UT have questions at QB, plus 2 brand new interior lines. They were among the worst in the SEC last season at both offense AND defense. Jones has been bringing in excellent classes and the talent is improving, and I expect UT to get much better over the next 2-3 seasons because of this, but the huge turnover of experience from last season added to such a tough schedule is going to make 2014 IMO a rough one for the Vols...

And then look at the other teams on their schedule: Utah St. went 9-5 in 2013, with close losses to Utah, SoCal, Boise St., and Fresno St. They beat N. Ill. - who was vying for a BCS bowl at one point late last season - in their bowl game. That's not your typical cupcake season-opener.

They host Arkansas St. who went 8-5 last season: again, these are teams that a typically good UT usually routs, but a rebuilding UT with so many questions will be vulnerable. They also play @ Vanderbilt who has had B2B 9-win seasons and still have some talent, although with questions of their own...

IMO if UT goes 6-6 with such turnover from last season and climbing out of the hole they've been in, that's like a 10-2 season for many other SEC teams IMO....

ETA: @ConwayGamecock: we only have to win 1 of those, assuming we don't screw up and lose to a team we are supposed to beat on paper (most likely would be USU or maybe Vandy.) I think we split home games vs UF and Mizzou to go 6-6.

6-6 this year with outside shot at 7-5

8-4 with outside shot at 9-3/10-2 bc UGA, UT, USCe and Bama will all be replacing QBs

No clue on 2016, too far out

If Butch doesn't win the East in 2015, then I would fear it's not going to happen under him IMO unless there are some major changes at UGA, UF, USCe and Bama between now and 2016.

What's their schedule like? Does Oklahoma come to Knoxville one of those years? Who do they get out of the West besides 'Bama?

The last 3 years recruiting, Tennessee has picked up zero five stars, and a total of 28 four star players. For reference, a mediocre UGA team has had 31 four stars, and 7 five stars.

Tenn finished in the top ten recruiting this year, but have been in the high 20's the two years before that.

They fact they play UF, UGA, BAMA and USC every year, all recruiting better than them, that's a big problem.

If T can put together another top ten class in 2015, I see this..

2014 7-5
2015 7-5
2016 9-3

I think we can beat UGA, UF, Ole Miss, USC, Mizzou.

Beating 2 of those 5 is possible.
