Four-star 2014 Auburn signee arrested on pair of felony pot charges

If he had been a gator, these charges would be dismissed shortly. Didn't anyone tell him that Fla makes a living off these types of arrests?

Auburn’s 2014 recruiting class, rated ninth in the country by Rivals.com, could potentially see its ranks thinned thanks to an off-field incident earlier today.
Al.com‘s Brandon Marcello is reporting that Kalvaraz Bessent was arrested early Saturday in Nassau (Fla.) County. The most serious charges the cornerback faces are possession of marijuana over 20 grams and possession with intent; both of those are felonies. A misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia was slapped on for good measure.

Florida has the strictest weed laws. An 20 or 21g is a felony, whereas in most states, greater than an oz (28g) is felony. Depending on how much he had, him and his buddies could smoke it up in a week.

If you have half an ounce of weed you either smoke a shite ton of pot (serious habit) or you're selling to support your own casual interest in smoking. Either way this isn't a good start for Bessent

Yeah 20 grams is a lot of weed. Most likely answer is that he sold it in HS.
Above average pot smoker would have at most a half ounce (14 gs). Most only keep a few grams at a time.

Damn, you guys are chumps. A half isn't anything, especially when kids today smoke it in blunts, you can fit 2grams in one easy, and thats what all the 'rappers' do, so like I said, a half isnt that much. And to assume he is selling b/c of the amount he had is asinine. Now if they were all bagged up and had a bunch, then yeah.

If it was Mexican weed (way lower quality), then 20g really aint shite! An oz of the mexican will cost ya around 50-60$, but 50$ will get you 3.5g of the medical.

I didn't click the link but rather saw it on the front page of the rant when I checked in.
It said he was a one time UGA recruit who flipped on us, maybe our weed policy saved us from this mess and isn't a problem in as much as we might have thought after all.

You never know how they made that assumption. There was a case where an elderly gentleman (60+)in GA was caught with cocaine. He told the police that he did not use cocaine but intended to give it to young girls in return for sex. Someone in our office said, "sounds like intent to distribute".
