I like the activity on this board, so I figure I would post this here...

I am a Wisconsin Badgers fan and they play LSU in Houston (2014), Alabama in Dallas (2015), and LSU in Green Bay (2016).

I would like to go to at least two of those games, one of which being the game in the Green Bay.

This is where I need some advice! For someone 21+ going with several friends that would like to enjoy the game day experience and nightlife, would you all prefer Dallas or Houston? Never been to either city.

I understand both opponents are top-notch. Believe me, if I could afford all three trips, I would. I can't, unfortunately. Hell, two may be stretching it. But, I would love to make one of these cities work. Just want to make sure I make the right decision.

Lived in Houston my whole life, went to A&M, now been in Dallas 3 years. The scene for young people and entertainment is the same I think, so if that's what you're basing your decision on I don't think you can really go wrong. Both cities have great bar/entertainment areas.

Regardless of opponent, Dallas over Houston. No doubt about it.

The question should be Houston or Arlington, as that is where the DFW games take place. The stadium is 45 minutes away from good nightlife.

The Tizzine is your only answer. Stay downtown, party in Upper Kirby or Midtown, and take the light rail down to Reliant so you don't need to worry about driving.

DFW each and every time. Houston is the most generic, sprawling, soulless town in the nation.

Houston is hands down the better city to live in. More/better work opportunities, more diverse cultures, less dbags, and more pride.

But if we are comparing for a short visit, I might say Dallas for you.

Stadiums
Dallas: newer & more flashy. A good place to see once or twice just for its size. Located in Arlington which is NOT Dallas. If you're young and want to see the city then you'll have to travel for the game.

Houston: Better venue to watch a game and now has a larger video board. Located in a not so great part of Houston (not terrible) but its a short train ride or short drive from Downtown or Midtown. Slightly longer drive from Uptown. (Areas I would recommend you stay in the city)

Nightlifes are probably very similar. Houston again a more spread out town so you'd have to just pick one area to go out in or be willing to spend some money on a cab.

If you're a history buff, go to Dallas. It's like visiting Detroit three years ago.

Otherwise, go to Houston. As has been mentioned, it will be at lot easier to get to the nightlife from the stadium area.

Sprawling? Yup.

Generic? Not any more generic than Dallas, Chicago, OKC, or Atlanta.

Soulless is not even close to a word I'd use for Houston.
