Booo this shite. Arena looks better but NEZ looks terrible.

NEZ looks fine. It looks like it'll be built with it being easy to expand an upper deck/suite level.
I've been saying all along we don't need more suites, just more seats. This will take a hell of a lot less money and will be done a lot sooner.

Suites pay the bills. He later says that 9 new suites have been sold and basically if more are sold then we will look at the design again. I guess he won't build them unless they are all sold first. Who else thinks this is a "get off your arse and give us money if you want your fancy NEZ" video? I hope so

I do wish they would go ahead and build up to the same level as the rest of the stadium.
but moving the video board would be a huge pain in the arse. It's on the same level that the East side stands were when I first started going to games in the early 90's.
They built the east side and suites up in one offseason back then, IIRC.

He said they are renovating the Gillam and Fed ex building. You can't build suites with those buildings there so why renovate them if you intend to tear or move them?

agreed. I'm in love with the new arena and parking garage. Looks like Tad Smith will be a nice shaded area.

I don't like the NEZ. I get that they are trying to tie in the stadium and arena with the brick but I was hoping it would help tie the football stadium together. The stadium will continue like there were separate expansions.
Also, I don't like that the bowl won't be all one level. Does anybody know why the NEZ won't be built to match the height of the rest of the bowl?

I know building costs have gone up since '04 but that entire SEZ expansion cost just 25 mil. Please don't half arse this shite

That was my impression. I think the actual stadium design will be much different in the end

We would have to move the video board and tear down Gillam and FedEx. Originally was the idea, now apparently we are poor with raising 95 mil in two years and on the verge of doubling our tv contract. I am pissed

And what the hell with we need 10 more million in 8 weeks to make this happen? Basically taking all the blame and putting it on the fans when this shite never gets built. Which I get I guess but who is going to give money if they think the NEZ will look like that?

The NEZ is just a concept. It's not the final design. To be honest, and I have some strong sources within the athletic dept, these drawings were not even finished until about a week ago. The administration just wanted to give the campaign some new life and showcase the new locations.
The arena will be awesome, and even if the NEZ ends up as shown, then it is a HUGE improvement.

With him saying we have sold 9 new suites, I'm not as worried about the NEZ. I don't like how close the Arena is to the stadium. I love the idea of them being next to one another but he is making the same mistake Boone made and that mistake is causing us the problem of properly bowling in the stadium. You have to anticipate growth. When Boone put up the video board and built the fed ex center he did not anticipate us ever bowling in the NEZ which is dumb. Bjork is anticipating that we ever do anything else with our West side with how close he is building the arena.
Also this bullshite about raising 10 million is 7 weeks or we won't be able to build these on this timeline. Why give that timeline if you aren't going to keep it.

I think the arena and garage looks great. I like the location too.
The NEZ looks meh IMO. I think it would look better if more brick were incorporated throughout the entire facade of VHS.
