Wommack shouldn't be splitting time, he needs to be full time DC.

The defense is only sucking right now, after several shifts in position coaches.

The offensive line has sucked for 4 years.

I said fire Matt Luke all of last year, I'm not going to blame the Florida game on him because the hand he was dealt with injuries and the NCAA was out of his control. The Florida loss is on Freeze, he didn't prep the team, he didn't adjust, and he stubbornly keeps calling terrible plays.

People calling for Luke's head are reacting after the Florida game, and that game itself isn't a good reason, but his past 3 seasons are.

The OL has improved every season. This same OL walked into BDS and helped beat Bama.

Fans can be fickle. When we beat A&M fans will be back on the gravy train...smh

A&M's defensive line is going to absolutely murder poor Chad Kelly.

Wut?

You have never coached a good OL in your life. Duke fans were happy you left. Their OL got better immediately.

I am not blaming Luke for these injuries....and I mean crazy weird injuries. I can't blame him for Rawlings who is not a right tackle.. He is doing the BEST he can with what he has...HOWEVER...the bad blocking technique which could fix a ton of these problems that we are having I AM BLAMING. I see poor technique...that has ZERO to do with talent. Bad technique is bad technique. Getting whipped at the line because you are outmatched is a personell problem...OL players missing blocks because they are not at the right place at the right time is bad coaching and technique. He is suppose to fix bad techniqe. That is his job....to which I say DO YOUR JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yea I am pissed!!!!!!!!

Key OL stats: yards per run, sacks allowed (conference games only)

2013: 3.7, 21
2014: 3.93, 22
2015: 2.9, 9 (through 3 games)

In rushing that ranks us 12, 10, 13 currently in the SEC

In sacks we were ranked 11, 12, and we are currently tied for last.

I don't know how to respond to this because I'm not sure if you are serious or if that is a troll. Regardless, I really want Matt Luke to do well because he is an Ole Miss Grad & I would love if our entire staff was Ole Miss grads and they were all successful, it's just not looking like this is a possibility with Luke. Also, I will agree that our linebackers are a huge weakness. I'd love to bring DT in to be our linebackers coach. I think that guy was born to be a coach.

Again, as much as I think Luke is in over his head and needs to be a HS coach, I'm hoping I'm wrong and have to eat my words, I just don't see it happening.

LB appears to be a personell problem more than bad coaching. IMHO.

I will say Denzel is playing really well this season.

Freeze's former line coach at Arky State is doing work for Tubberville at Cincinnati right now. Top 5 offense this year. And he already knows Freeze's offensive and recruiting methods. I'd be on the phone with him right now.

Eta: sorry someone told me wrong. He would still be worth a look.

Can anyone name one thing the play caller has done to HELP the injured/young/inexperienced OL. I can't think of anything. We don't run the bubble screen anymore.we run the ball straight at the weakest part of the OL. We run plays that take forever to get the ball out meaning guys have to hold blocks longer.

How is the play calling helping the beat up OL?

I just want a decent O line Chad just needs a little time to pass down field. I don't care how it gets done as long as it gets done.

Except for a few obvious guys in a recruiting class, it's extraordinarily difficult to project how a senior in high school will develop as an offensive lineman. It's very rare that an 18-19 year old can contribute immediately. It's almost unfair to expect them to come in and block guys who may have had years in a college S&C program. I'm not making excuses for anyone - that's just the reality of the situation.

I hate to say it, but I don't think it's going to be any better next season. I think we're going to have to bring in at least a couple of JUCO guys. We definitely can't let o line recruits get away in the hopes that we land a higher rated guy. We're way beyond the point of gambling on one recruit. If a 3 star honor roll kid with even a moderate amount of athletic ability and something to prove wants to commit, then sign him up. If that's all it takes to make a 4 or 5 star guy want to look elsewhere, that should be a huge red flag anyways.

That is a very very very good question and you are exactly right.

We have just abandoned the bubble screen.

My biggest problem is not the players...My biggest problem is players out of position and wiffing blocks. Getting whipped at the line of scrimmage is one thing...wiffing blocks and not being in the right position to make a block has ZERO to do with talent. It has everything to do with coaching however.

As Co offensive coordinator you'd think Luke would have a little pull with the head man when it comes to calling plays that expose our weaknesses.

Florida equally has a inexperienced, young OL. So what did their coach do? He called plays where there was a lot of misdirection, play starts one way but is intended to go the opposite way. What did this do? Didn't allow much pass rush for a downhill aggressive defense like we have. There was one pass of over 25+ yards and it should have been intercepted but Hilton read it wrong. Florida wasn't some power running team. They also didn't line up and try to run it down our throats. Small throws is what they did.

For some reason our play caller whomever that is doesn't seem to understand that concept. We ran a bunch of long developing plays. Then they blame execution. Well of course they didn't execute, you're asking most of these guys to do things they physically can't or aren't experienced enough yet to do.

Great breakdown.

That and mcelwain adapted to our blitzing.

We should have us d the short pass game with our weak o line.

It's like Hugh knows we have this cannon of an arm and we need to use it. Our screen passing and misdirection pass plays have to be our run game with line man hurt.

Rod Taylor has to medical redshirt.
