I have old man/family/kids filter. So I take into account property value appreciation, crime, schools etc...when I think of "good towns". Now if I was bachelor like I was in my late 20's through mid 30's it is a whole different filter involved. I lived in big cities & college towns...college towns were the best!

The property values in areas of Biloxi are far higher than others in the state by virtue of that whole waterfront thing.

Yes, but once you get off the water they drop pretty quick. Plus you can have the most beautiful mini-mansion with IC access and have a trailer park as your next door neighbors. Just my opinion but zoning there leaves something to be desired.

This list is pretty short, IMO.

1) Oxford
2) Ocean Springs
(somewhat drop off)
3) Madison

Only reason I even have Madison on here is because it's well developed and has nice golf courses. In reality, it's no different from other suburbs[seriously, go to any nice suburb in America, it looks exactly the same. See, Johns Creek, Georgia].

Oxford has it all, IMO. Beautiful landscape, quaint downtown with plenty of entertainment and nightlife. Scenic college campus adjacent to it. Seriously, driving down North Lamar headed to the square is like something out of a movie.

Ocean Springs is very nice, and is a true gem in the state.

Having lived in Jackson for 3 years, I wouldn't wish that upon anybody. The streets are awful, traffic on Lakeland is laughably bad, and the nightlife is shockingly limited for a capital town.
