He can't motivate his players like he used to, he can't recruit like he used to, he can't manage games like he used to, and he simply can't coach like he used to.

We aren't a talented team on the defensive side of the ball, but we are not bad enough to the point where we should lose 7 games. If Freeze doesn't make a bowl game and doesn't beat Mississippi State next year, he could be fired.

Don't believe me? Just watch.

He never did these things. All Freeze is good at is recruiting and hyping the players up for the Bama game. All other moments of success are due to the skill and voracity of the players.

He won a damn Sugar Bowl. If we fire him after 2 bad seasons then we deserve everything we get after it.

Only way I'd want him fired is if he knowingly had players paid, lied to the NCAA and will cause us a multiple year bowl ban.

Y'all really settle for mediocrity. I'm not saying he should be fired, but it should be made clear to him that he needs to stick to what he is good at and hire people to do what he can't, one of which is actually calling a game.

10-3 and a Sugar Bowl win is mediocrity?

I would agree with you if our program showed any signs of life. Sadly, we looked like not a single person, not even Freeze, had any intention of winning today.

We are not a historically good team, and it's not as if we can just bounce back after two bad seasons. If Freeze doesn't make a bowl game and has a 4-8 season next year, his recruiting will drop outside the top 80 and we will have exhausted almost all the elite talent on our roster.

Freeze set his own bar high by winning the Sugar Bowl last year. If he doesn't show any signs of progressing and only regresses, he needs to go.

If we get worse next year and recruiting gets worse, I'll agree.

I'm saying he should be fired. Nutt won us two Cotton Bowls ando then 2010 and 2011 ensued.

Are we really that far off from 2011 with that performance tonight?

Offense will be good, in fact, should be very good next year. If the defense can just be where they are supposed to be, run to the football when that's the thing to do, play motivated and gang tackle (same as running to the ball) they will instantly be much better than what we saw all season. We need to recruit kids we can get and who will buy into being an Ole Miss Rebel. That in itself takes care of playing with emotion and intensity. I for one can feel very good about 7 or 8 wins a year including a bowl win. For those of you who think that's living with mediocrity, sorry.

Definitely don't think that 8 wins and a bowl game is mediocrity. I just don't want us to slip back into football oblivion because we have an unmotivated team and a coach who can't motivate his players.

Marquis Haynes was on the sidelines telling Kiffin he didn't want to go back in. He gave up. He wasn't the only one.

This. Plus, everything I have heard and read leads me to believe we are going to be on probation. Pulling the redshirt was meant to give us a chance to end on an upswing. Instead we get throttled by Vandy and MSU.
I'm not sure that in today's climate we can afford to ride a losing horse. It's not like when we fired Cutt. We deserved getting lambasted over that. Now I don't think anyone blinks.
Especially with the recruiting questions.

Wasn't hard to see the defense quit on Wommack. I would have too. At least I hope they quit cause that was pathetic. I'd believe that Haynes story

No, but you made me rethink. 5-7 is not mediocrity, it's shite. So I don't know why I even said mediocrity.
