Marquis Haynes was on the sidelines telling Kiffin he didn't want to go back in. He gave up. He wasn't the only one.
Heard the same thing. When we lost CJ Johnson and Mike Hilton, we lost the heart of the team.

Just look at the replay of the game. Just read Kiffin lips. Haynes also didn't go back in the game.

Haynes said after the game he is 99 percent sure he is leaving for the draft. Something definitely happened today

Well, I don't know the truth on Haynes or any other rumors about quitting. However, I will say that Haynes has definitely laid some monster licks this year, but for every one of those I keep reading he runs out of his assignment gap 5 times. So I just don't know how much he'd be missed if he's replaced by somebody who maybe isn't quite as dynamic but who plays more consistently on every play. Add to which, if he's gonna quit on his coaches at any point during any game, well you all can finish that thought. Bottom line is Dan Mullen is still an arse, State isn't very good but winning masks all that. Ole Miss spiraled noticeably downward just over the last two weeks and thank God we have until August to get it turned around.

The shortsightedness in this thread is appalling.

Yeah. Freeze told Wommack to GTFO, we got our asses handed to us by State and we're not going to a bowl game.

Posted in main thread but since Haynes being mentioned here:

Per LINK:

Surprisingly, Haynes said he did not know defensive coordinator Dave Wommack had announced his retirement before the game.
"I really didn't find out until just now when you just told me," said Haynes.
"Coach Wommack, I know he's old and stuff, but he's been like an uncle to me. I go in his office and talk to him and stuff. To me, that's one of the best college coaches on defense in the world to me. Knowing that he's not going to be here no more...I've just got to find yself someone else's room to go to and go talk to them."

I'd back the truck up to Derek Mason or PJ Fleck and hand Freeze a set of truck nutz as a buyout. He should have been on ching for his job tonight.

Freeze looked 20 years older today than he did at the start of the season.

I think the investigation is wearing him down.

He definitely did look tired or sick, possibly. I know I've been sick myself for several days, so I'm not trying to add to some conspiracy. If we had been winning most every week, a season is a drain. So with what transpired this year, I'm sure he's whipped.

Said after the game this was the hardest year of his career and he's glad it's over. Don't even think it's the investigation. Going from no.12 to not even making a bowl. Seeing a good friend fall apart before your eyes into the worst defensive coordinator in the country. Having your integritry ripped on national tv every week. Had to be rough. Most important off-season of his career, time to earn his money

I think he's going to get the job done and make the right decisions this offseason; at least I hope he does.
I haven't lost faith in Freeze yet, but as some other people said earlier if he has another losing season next year with a terrible recruiting class we should probably let him go

Something tells me he is going to pull something out of his arse and land Akers. That's a pipe dream I know but if he pulls that off, it will jolt the program back to life.

I have faith in Freeze. It is his assistants and the investigation that make me doubt the turn around. Dream world is we get cleared by the NCAA soon and Freeze fires all of these Arkansas St bums and gets a real SEC staff. Never going to happen, just have to hope we somehow land Akers and get cleared by the NCAA sometime before the end of next season

Which he will promptly piss away by taking the playcalling role in the redzone.

The thing with Freeze is that he doesn't learn from his mistakes.

Yeah put Pellerin in on that 2nd down play...smh I'm like man is this the Treadwell pass for this season? Man it don't work. Throw that ish away.

I will say the OL got better as the season progressed even with the injuries. If Judd had ANY vision that 4th and 1 play he could have made the 1st down on the left side. It was wide open.

I guess most of you forget the plethora of coaches between Vaught and Freeze. We get the defense fixed and we would have won at least 9 games. Freeze is a good coach that had an off year. That happens. Playcalling was very limited this season by the screwup with Wilkins and the lack of an SEC caliber RB.

We would have had 9 wins despite Freeze.

Hugh is getting in his own way. If the man would open his eyes and analytically review and logically assess his past games and mistakes and corrected them, we would have won more games.

Also, If I was Bjork I would pay for Hugh to attend a Wharton management and leadership class. Hugh needs to know when to fire, when to hire, when to micromanage and when to delegate.
