So our defensive coordinator should be kept when we gave up 128 points in 3 losses last year, and 165 in 4 losses this year, because the offense isn't averaging over 45 points a game? Give me a break. Are you related to Wommack? LSU is loaded with NFL talent on defense, we shouldn't be expected to score a crap ton on them. They have a one dimensional offense, and we couldn't stop it even though everyone in the stadium could name every play coming. That is why we lost

If our defense gives us any breaks in FSU or Bama we win those. Couldn't get off the field though.

You're right though, talent is the biggest issue. I just put the blame for lack of talent squarely on wommack.

You can't win football games against top 25 type talent on one side of the ball. The offense has played good enough to win games. This defense has been one of the worst in all of football.

Agree, doesn't mean the defense isn't awful either. Our offense and playcalling definitely needs to be re-evaluated since we do have the talent there to be doing what Auburn did to Arkansas.

Chad needs to do a lot better and we need to get more creative, maybe leverage misdirection to the max like Auburn does to run the football.

It's hard to give breaks though when you're on the field 40 of the 60 minutes. OM had multiple forced turnovers on defense in all three of those losses. They even got points in the Bama game.

I'm not trying to overly defend the defense. They were atrocious. But offense is the strength. They are suppose to carry this team. Offense stalled against FSU, stalled against Bama for the entire 3rd and gave up 14 points in turnovers, and sucked arse in the 2nd half in this loss.

They shouldn't get a pass because they have had some success. He'll, it was supposed to be the strength of the team. Yet they haven't played a complete game all season.

The issues on offense lie with the offensive line. Not play calling or talent. It is what it is. We knew coming into the season that we might have issues with both Tunsil and Cooper leaving last year. Isn't a coincidence that when Rod Taylor went down tonight our offense shut down, Little just wasn't ready for Arden Key. Chad Kelly played his best football last year when Tunsil came back from suspension and he had all day to throw.

LSU is loaded with NFL talent. Offense played fine for what we had. Outside of a couple under thrown passes it is what it is. Defense was awful, has been the issue all year. I'd give them a pass, but they were even worse last year when we had NFL talent

I'll say it, Chad Kelly is Bo Wallace with a better arm. Kid doesn't look like a senior qb. He just throws the ball up into coverage, never uses check downs, locks in on guys.

His arm is not nearly as strong as it was last year. That throw to Lodge he had beaten the CB, the ball was just thrown 5 yards behind him.

But part of this is just the defenses fault. Like at Arkansas where we are playing 10 yards off the ball on 4th and 4. That should never happen.

It's also why I don't put as much blame on the offense. They are almost required to score every single possession for us to even be competitive. That's an incredible burden and a huge problem.. I also think it's why chad has been forcing more and more this year. He's trying desperately to make anything happen because he knows the defense isn't going to get a stop. They have still played like shite the last two games and inconsistent all year, not defending that. I just can't give them any bulk of the blame in these loses.

Give me a break. We have 5 new starters on the offensive line. If you expected them to score 45 weekly on SEC defenses, you were lost. We were on the field 40 minutes because we gave up 17 yards per carry against Leonard. Like I told you before, if we ever stop the run we won't be on the field so much

See, I can't agree with that. Every time we ever got a 3 and out besides the first series, our offense folded like a damn lawn chair. Yes, there is some pressure, but the defense did what they could with the talent they had. I can't say the same for the offense.

They are playing below their talent level. The defense is at or above their talent level. And that's not even to say our defense is good. They fricking suck. But our offense was worse.

Caldwell was shown walking by himself to the locker room during the game in the second half. He wasn't ejected or anything that I know of. Wasn't hurt either. Don't know if he was sick or if he was just packing it in. They said on TV and I could go back and watch but haven't. I had the sound muted and was listening to the radio.

Wommack has played an integral part in helping Freeze turn our program around. But it seems like the game is starting to pass him by. I hope we can work out a nice retirement package for him. But it's time for us to get serious about spending money on assistant coaches. Even Mississippi State is outspending us on assistant coaches...

ETA: Vandy is private so can't see their numbers, but I think we spend less on assistant coaches than every other SEC team

He was sent to the locker room after getting in an altercation with another defensive player.

^^^ Thanks. But it was odd that Freeze said he knew nothing about that during the post game presser. I wonder who "sent him?"

They reported during the game that a defensive coach did it.
