When this is done, throw some upper decks on the sidelines and you'll have a fine stadium. Similar to DWS when we bowl in the SEZ

Be a long, long time before that happens. Two upper decks would put us at 85k. Bjork keeps mentioning a deck on the home side being the next project but I wish we'd just make it a big nice, endzone to endzone press box with suites similar to Nebraska, KSU, and Florida. Then when we need another expansion we add a deck to the visitors side, given the people in upper decks are visitors and non season ticket holders. Plus this is far more room on the east side. Just make the west side press box very tall with the foresight to match the height in the future with a deck on the East. One deck is all you need to store away the away fans. Next expansion won't be long given that we only have to sell 2k more season tickets than last year to max out this expansion, given the students are taking up the other 2k that is added. It won't be a question of when can we build this to fill it up, but one of when can we afford to build this and given you can add so many more premium seats, a lot of it will pay for itself. Here's to hoping its completed by 2019 season

Wouldn't y'alls next expansion be to add an upper deck to the NEZ since y'all have the athletic building right next to the stadium.

It would be a smaller expansion for sure. For them to bowl in their other endzone they would be adding 10-12k seats.

I like your idea. I think it would make more sense to remodel the press box to resemble the SEZ in a way, then add an upper deck to the east side when the time comes.

Personally, I would like to see the east and west sides remodeled to match the SEZ while also redeveloping the concourses and stadium facade more so than an upper deck.

I think matching the NEZ to the SEZ should be the final step. Building a new press box on the west that spans the entire sideline should be the next step in establishing more conformity and our stadium's final look. They could do something really similar to the SEZ and just outfit it accordingly for a press box setting. Eventually having matching awnings over the entire stadium wouldn't be bad either.

I'm not sure if we will ever need an upper deck.

I would like to see the Press Box reconstructed to look more like the SEZ, with luxury boxes below the press boxes.

Then come back with matching east side that would be all luxory boxes with no upper deck.

The final phase would be to complete the NEZ to be identical to the SEZ. Inside and out so the entrance would be more impressive. If that gets capacity to 74,000 with the luxury boxes that should hold us off for the next 10-12 years.

Screw the visitors, let them watch on television. I believe it would be a better situation to make the tickets harder to come by, than to attempt to waste money on seats for visitors in the upper deck. Let those who want to help pay someone's season tickets off, sit with the rest of us Rebels while they get beat.

Add red seats and an overhang that matches the SEZ, and that's one sexy AF west side box.

I think VH tops out at 80k at the very most. If the east and west sides end up mimicking the SEZ and span thewhole field, we'll end up with close to 75k.

A small but beautifully built stadium would represent what Ole Miss is all about and would add to our brand more than having a big stadium. It's already been done by everyone.

I want 75k rebel fans cheering under an amplifying overhang that encompasses a complete stadium. That, my friends, would be a scary place to play. It would be one of the most unique venues in the game, not to mention the mystique of being the 3rd oldest in college football.

If this doesn't happen and our AD screws it up, I'm torching the grove. I wish I was kidding.

Who's with me?!

I'd be very surprised if we ever surpass 75k, especially with Bjork at the helm. Bjork's prioritized putting in more luxury areas as opposed to putting in more seating. Most football programs aren't so much expanding the stadiums as they are renovating too. People are becoming more inclined to stay home and watch games on tv unless it's a big game, and all of our games in the foreseeable future will be on ESPN. I really don't think we'd be able to get 80k for a game against the likes of Presbyterian, UT-Martin, and maybe even Vanderbilt, and when I spent time in Athletics this past January, Bjork and co. didn't seem like we were going to work towards making our house much bigger than it's about to be.

I've always appreciated how Duke keeps their basketball approach regarding Cameron Indoor. Sure, they could put more in the stands for most every basketball game, but they keep it a tough ticket and ensure that those there are present because they really, really want to be and in turn will be energetic. Sure, asshats from Tennessee, A&M, Michigan and so on are gonna call Vaught-Hemmingway a high school stadium because it doesn't seat 100K, but in the end, that's all they've really got the last time I checked. That's if we can keep our asses off severe probation and sanctions and the recruits keep rolling in .

The issue with Vaught-Hemingway isn't as much size as it is amenities. It's just not very nice. Old concourse areas, dimly lit, nothing really modern or state of the art about it. Hopefully that will change in the coming years, but right now it's pretty blah.

I imagine VHS will become pretty ritzy over the next 10-15 years. There have been noticeable improvements every year, with the NEZ being the biggest project since the SEZ. That and getting the ball rolling towards full athletic scholarship endowment seem to be the main projects now that the Pavilion is done.

This NEZ project is nowhere near the last two major renovations. I'm happy that we've bowled in the end zone but those concourses suck and need to be fixed before the 2017 season... but I'm sure we will spend all of our football money on some terrible title 9 stuff.

I doubt there's much IX stuff to do right now. The softball and soccer fields are both nice, and WBB has the Pavilion. I doubt there's much to spend on regarding riflery. Doesn't the softball field have like the biggest light board for softball in the conference (or maybe even the country)?
