I think that we won't get on the docket prior to Dec or Jan. If the latter then the COI won't release their decision until after signing day. As it stands right now, other staffs (some, like Bitch Jones are more vocal & full of shite) are using it against us. Just look up what the legacy TE from the coast was quoted as saying he was told by the UT staff.....so this class is a wash.

Good chance that former 5* WR and LSU transfer ends up at EMCC and is in Ole Miss' signing class. He would have 3 years to play 2. This according to DJ.

Johnson’s father told The Advocate that LSU’s offensive system wasn’t the best fit for his son’s skillset.

“He wanted to go to a more wide open offense,” Tyrone Johnson said Thursday afternoon. “That was the only reason why.” LSU has blocked Tyron from transferring to another SEC school, but his father said Tyron could play the 2016 season at a junior college with plans to return to the SEC in 2017. A decision could come in “the next week,” Tyrone told the paper.

LSU has a deep, talented crop of receivers. Johnson had been working with the freshmen and reserve receivers throughout camp, so the transfer shouldn’t be a blow for the Tigers’ offense. Johnson is the third receiver to leave LSU this year. John Diarse and Trey Quinn both landed at Texas schools this offseason with Diarse headed to TCU and Quinn signing with SMU.

The only thing that makes sense about Tyron Johnson coming here from an outside perspective seems to be the type of offense we run. We weren't really in on his recruitment in HS. And while I'm sure the type of offense has something to do with his recruitment I'd guess a large portion of his unhappiness at LSU is the competition which wouldn't get much easier at Ole Miss.

We've yet to see how a lot of these guys pan out but recruiting ranking wise our WRs would be pretty sick

AJ Brown- #5 WR
DK Metcalf- #18 WR (pretty underrated IMO)
Trey Nixon- #36 WR
Markell Pack- #20 WR
Stringfellow- #9 WR
Demarcus Lodge- #6 WR
Van Jefferson- #11 WR
DD Bowie- #12 WR
Tyron Johnson- #5 WR

With or without him I think we find a pretty decent rotation next year

I think both DK & Tre were really underrated, I'd put DK as a top 11-ish guy and Tre top 20 with his speed. But you're right, the competition here for a starting spot wouldn't get any easier

DK was ranked about right. Disappeared in games and didn't get good separation at the HS level. He was at his best on posts and screens.

David said in his chat that we will be at the top of his priority list when he can go to a power 5 school.

That's fair. His speed is not ideal. I just really like him. I'm not sure he will ever be a top draft pick, but I think he will be a very productive college WR who will be a great blocker in the run game. He also isn't likely to transfer when he isn't the #1 WR his freshman year.

I think he will be a guy that 5 years from now you look back and can choose any WR's college career from the class he will be taken in the top 10

According to a friend that is a lspoo fan Johnson was with with the back ups because the coaching staff hated his work ethic. Said he has all the athletic ability you could ask for and would put up video game like numbers at emcc. Said he would miss work outs and show up late for film. But as you all know the typical lspoo fan, we don't need him, he wouldn't help us.

DK played most of last year with a nagging hamstring injury. (I think that's what it was)

Freeze mentioned it today. Separation is what he has to work on because he isn't the fastest. As Freeze mentioned he keeps making plays because he knows how to use his frame and if it's close he is snagging it.

Badly underranked as well... There aren't 4 WRs in the class of 2016 that are better than AJ... Maybe 1.

He was the number 1 WR in my mind even when I thought he was a State lock... Hes a Quon clone and the moment you see him play its so clear

DK plays more like AJ Green IMO... Which is a really good thing haha

Everything I've heard is the NCAA investigators aren't leaving Oxford until March or April. It will be next year sometime before we get a punishment. The NCAA is sticking around and watching our recruiting tactics like a hawk this year. So I wouldn't expect anything extraordinary this year.

Those bastards need to pound sand. They are just butthurt that after +4 year colonoscopy they only found ~$15K in benefits and no pay for play. Wish there was a way to kindly tell them their services were no longer needed.
