Is the state growing in population or just a lot of ppl in west St. Louis? As an otr truck driver I don't see much in Missouri
Yes Southwest Missouri is growing.. Joplin's population awhile back use to be around 40,000...now it's up to 50,000+. Springfield metro(3rd largest city) is also getting bigger.
You have the city life in Missouri which offers a lot of entertainment....then you have the lakes for recreation, Ozarks for camping, hiking, hunting...
Branson with it's shows, entertainment, Silver Dollar City(Amusement Park), very nice Lakes(Table Rock and Lake Taneycomo) is usually ranked in a lot U.S. tourism mags. Actually going there this weekend. You'll see license plates from all over the country in Branson during the Spring and Summer months. Strip is packed with cars bumper to bumper.

#45 most visited State (only 5 states visited less, yikes)
You pick which is which from FL,LA and Arkansas.
Louisiana have to be higher than #29...Hell New Orleans carry a lot of weight with it's events, festivals, Mardi Gras, College Bowls, etc.

It's not according to the list I saw.
In the SEC, the most popular to visit are...
#2 FL
#4 TX (big 2 as usual)
#7 SC
#9 GA
#11 TN
#14 AL
#27 MS
#29 LA
#30 MO
#33 KY
#45 AK
I have some doubts about those numbers myself though and will look for a different source.

Mississippi is losing population. LOL:
6. Mississippi
> 1-yr pop. growth rate: -0.04%
> Current population: 2,992,333
> 2014 population: 2,993,443
> 10-yr pop. growth rate: 2.44%
People often move to find better economic opportunities, and Mississippi’s economy is hurting. The typical household in the state earns only $39,680 annually, the lowest median income of any state in the country. Additionally, more than one-fifth of state residents live below the poverty line, the highest poverty rate of any state. Mississippi’s 10-year growth rate of 2.4% is among the slowest in the country. In the past year, the state’s population actually shrank by roughly 1,100 people. Though the state’s negative population growth is also a product of birth and death rates, roughly 9,460 more people moved out of Mississippi then moved in over the same one-year period.

Everybody on here is biased based on their own life experiences and where they have actually visited or lived. This is mine for example. Many who are bashing some states probably don't know jackshit about them

All I know is Texas is the best state, and there isn't a close second. Only state to be its own country.
