You average about 30 posts a day.

So, in the weeks you had a couple of posts, there were others where you had 400?

my only problem with the predominantly black churches Ive been to, is the mass or service is too damn long. I like the catholic or Episcopal services that like to wrap it up about 35 into it

This would be my argument as well. Having been to both a predominantly white baptist church and black baptist church it's two totally different types of services.

I'd also contribute it to family lineage and history within the church. Most people tend to go to the same church their parents did/do. And most people tend to attend churches within close proximity to where they live.

Monks chanting in Latin? Really? Where?

The High Anglican does the whole mass in Latin?

Granted if I have been in Saint John it was for weddings or funerals and it was a long time ago.

I think it also depends on where your church is located.most white people won't go to a Mt. Zion Baptist church if it's in the middle of the ghetto. Just like most black people wouldn't go to Our Lady of Sorrow if it's the middle of the country. It just goes to show you that location matters. Also I've been going to a 99.99% black church all my life, and white people do tend to stick out. When you're a kid you can't help but stare at them, even though you see white people all the time. I don't know what it is about church, but it just seems different.

I live in one of the largest cities in the country. You live in a little redneck town of less than 10,000 people. Chances are that it will become your life more than it ever will mine.

My life is about having fun. I also post a lot. I can multitask. I used to multitask a lot more when I got drunk a lot.

There are these things called tablets and smartphones today. I'm not sure that you've heard of them.

Either way, you people are easier to stir up than the idiots on social media. At least you have to poke them a few times.

Waaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyy too long. Also if I had a choice I would love to go to a catholic mass. Especially one in a beautiful cathedral, with all the stained glass windows and the ancient rituals. I went to St. Peter's Basilica, and I loved it.

Define diverse?

I know plenty of churches that have a hand full of black, latino and other families. But I'd still refer to it as a white church since that's the majority.

Also

Define segregated.

I've never been to a church, even if every single person was white where I walk through the door and everyone just stops and glares at me like it's the 50s in Mississippi. I'd say this new generation just doesn't give a crap.... but are too LAZY to venture out and diversify.

Basically, racism is dying but the structures are so in place, effort is required just to go someplace else or unfamiliar and this generation sucks at that.

I am of the generation where Latin was required in High School and taught in grade school (the old method where you had the classic education that included Latin, Greek, and French) so even tho the priest faced the other way you still understood what was being said. Altar boys were spit and polish and now they wear flip flops and ripped shorts. If I want to see folks in flip flops and jorts I can just go to SEC games.

I actually liked it as it seemed more mystical as it was between the priest and God and were were just there to observe. A distant God can be much more powerful than one who is closer. All that 1970's hand holding crap was for the birds yet it lead to what we have now. I generally seem to like Lutheran churches more than I like the Lutheran Mass.

I don't care for this line of thinking. It happens on the SECR all the time. Someone will post something stupid, get called out on it by everyone, then say "guess I had the right bait huh? I trolled yall good lol!"

You made a silly comment not founded in truth and were called out on it. You didn't "get us", you were flat out wrong and now you're trying to play it off.

Eh. I wouldn't group all Protestants into the same group. Anglicans are pretty different from Baptists.

But fundamentalists

Haven't witnessed this, I'm Catholic. My grandpaw's funeral mass was even said by a Nigerian priest, with assistance from a Vietnamese priest, in a predominantly black neighborhood, in a church named after a Mexican priest/martyr.

Being Catholic in a Protestant church is like being an Ole Miss fan in a Hot Topic.

So am I. You've got to go to a non Catholic church to see it

Depends on what Protestant denomination you're talking about. Catholics fit in fine with Anglicans, for example.

I'm Catholic, btw
