I've heard the N word said in church before. It was "reverend" Jeremiah Wright.

Catfan your posts are a clear indicator you have some anger/resentment issues. Maybe reading the Bible will bring you some peace of mind. It's helped me and millions others.

I refer to them as Catholic lite or diet Catholics. Protestant is reserved for the loons(Baptist, Assembly of God, etc..).

So am I. You've got to go to a non Catholic church to see it

I never felt out of place in a Catholic Church (cousins were Catholic) growing up in a Lutheran church, but I feel like I stick out like a sore thumb sitting in a Baptist church.

I had a Baptist preacher tell me I was going to hell for being Catholic. It was hilarious.

The last time I was in a Baptist church the guest pastor said something like "I was raised Catholic, but I never knew God until I became a Christian." I was a little confused.

I can only imagine.

There was a kid that lived down the street from me that was always trying to get me to go to some Wednesday night baptist bullshite. I went one night, because I got sick of saying no. So towards the middle of what I can only describe as the shittiest attempt at music I've ever heard(aka Christian rock) the preacher asks all the "believers" to put their arms out to bless the band. I, of course, decline. The pastor again urges everyone to outstretch their arms. I don't. So the service wraps up and the pastor approaches me and asks why I didn't put my arm out. "Do you not know Jee-sus, son?" I reply, "I'm catholic, we don't do this sort of thing. His reply, "oh you're a catholic? You need to repent or prepare hell, because that's where the Catholics are going." That's the only time I've ever cursed in a church. Felt good telling him to frick off.

I am the same. My wife is Catholic, so I've been going to Catholic church with her and her family, and I am pretty much lost (except for some things I picked up at an Episcopal school). One thing I am not on board with is that you can't take communion if you're not Catholic; it seems like everyone should be allowed to take communion, doesn't seem very Christian to exclude those from other denominations from taking communion.

This is truth. In Georgia, I was told not to enter an all-black church. I am (and was) an Atheist seeking for God.

It's the only time I've been turned away from the front door.

Thanks a lot, Apostle Brown.

The real question is why are most southern black churches portrayed as being blistering hot? You always see at least six old black ladies with a paper fan just fanning away.

I got commented on at a funeral one time because most people getting up for communion and I went on up following the crowd (we had done it in my non denominational church when I was younger). So i go up there and I didn't know what to say and the guy said you aren't supposed to do this if you aren't catholic, well I already had the cracker in my hand so I at it and moved on.

I wanted to use a witty line and say "now point me too the blood" or something like that to upset him but it was my friend's funeral and his family was right there so I didn't think it would be appropriate
