No bullshite. I figured out the Top Gun landing on my 2nd try. I can't do it every time but I have about a 90% success rate

Didn't have the Glove either. Or ROB. I'm okay with it.

Operation wolf. How I loved and hated that game. It was not easy iirc
iirc there are 4 difficulty settings on the board. And the 2nd-to-hardest is the default, factory-recommended one. It was made to be money hungry in other words.

Ultima: Exodus was one that basically ruined me on rpg's for a long time. That game was not possible without a walkthrough. I rented lots of games and then had no idea wtf to do. Internet didn't exist. We remember Zelda and Metroid because they were secretive games that actually got it right

Anyone ever beat the original TNMT game? That and Ninja Gaiden were painfully difficult.

Have beaten Ninja Gaiden. I think that might be the hardest game I've ever beat. I've beat Zelda 2nd quest before the internet but i might have had help from friends or my brothers or Nintendo Power. Castlevania is a tough one too I've beat. frick the first TMNT.
My wife and I play TMNT2

My parents were new to parenting (I was the oldest) when I was in the house and were strict on my gaming opportunities
I wasn't even allowed to have a Gameboy, much less a playstation, and now my younger siblings have been growing up on Xbox. The cretins
Ended up buying a lot of console games for PC. First sports game was Madden '99, followed quickly by NBA Live '99. Also loved racing games, chief among them being EA Sports NASCAR 2000 and the short-lived "Jeff Gordon XS Racing."
Favorite non-sports game was probably "Battleship II: Surface Thunder" by Hasbro. The arcade version of that game was fun as frick

Have beaten both, and the Wi punch out.

Super is my favorite. Hoy Qarlowe and the Bruisers took hours to beat the first time but now it's like riding a bike. I can show off any time

Halo just kind of ruined video games for those of us stuck in that era. WoW too. Because it seems like that's all we have now

Let me clarify. First it was Doom. Then it was GoldenEye. Then it was Halo. Then it was COD. Then it was TitanFall or Destiny or idk.
There's nothing wrong with those games. I just don't understand how they can dominate the market and be the most popular type of game for so long.

quote:Nah. I actually sort of see your point. The thing killing gaming (if you can say that) is a crap product by game companies trying to rush things out by a deadline. Stuff like that. EA is the worst.

Before console systems, PC games were all I ever lived for. I was hooked on Sierra On-line games, most notably Kings Quest 1-3, Space Quest, and the infamous Leisure Suit Larry games. The originals were amazing and horribly addictive. Others I played the frick out of were Silent Service, Defenders of the Crown, and the original Pirates game.... talk about many many dedicated hours.
When I got a NES, my go to games there were Ghosts and Goblins, Castlevania, Mike Tyson's punch out, and Populous.

Ghosts and Goblins was so ridiculously hard. Absolutely loved that game. Someone else mentioned Castlevania, which is also awesome.

First console was an Atari 2600. Loved playing Pac-Man, Enduro and Combat on it. I remember my dad would get "mad" when we would play two player Real Sports Baseball because after an out I would throw the ball around the infield. He would always be saying "Come on, let's get this going."
Got the original NES when I was in middle school. Beating Zelda and some of those games gave you such bragging rights...and then along came Super Tecmo Bowl. I remember getting that and playing half a season the first night.
I got away from consoles and played PC games for a while in college - EA baseball and hockey as well as Medal of Honor, Civ 3 and 007: Nightfire.

Never had a console til I was an adult, but I did a LOT of PC gaming back in the day.
Eye of the Beholder, Baldur's Gate 1 and 2, Icewind Dale, Counter-Strike, Civ 2, Top Gun, Railroad Tycoon (the original), Sim City, Sim Ant, Colonization, a shite ton of others.
I recall thinking Counter-Strike was the best FPS every made, and nothing would ever be better. Sometimes when playing some of the newer ones, I think back on that opinion..... and I still kindof agree. Baldur's Gate was mind blowing at the time. I have characters that LOOK LIKE PEOPLE!
