played a lot of N64, but the first game to truly hook me and blow my mind would probably be the original Halo. That game is easily one of the best ever.
You were born 9 years too late

have a Donkey Kong. It's one of my prettiest games. I'm not a champ, though. It's just 147,000.
Did you ever see the documentary King of Kong and a Fist full of Quarters?

Yep. It's a must-see in my "nerd circle". I've even met Billy Mitchell. He's as cocky as everyone thinks he is, but he's also a dedicated family man and a well rounded individual.
This "Pixels" comedy is going to be the next big nerd thing I fear. lol.

Started with the Odyssey II and then the Atari 7200
Got my NES Christmas '86
Metroid was my jam.
I loved Mega Man and Zelda.
I remember going to the local video store on Friday nights with my dad to rent movies and games for the weekend and he and I staying up all night. His favorite was Contra.
Sega Genesis was my second console.
I borrowed my buddy's SNES to play Chrono Trigger two weeks before I left for college. That game remains my all-time favorite.

I forgot we had a Coleco Vision for a while. We never played it though. Seems I remember the games for it being hard to find.

I wanna see Pixels.
Wreck It Ralph is highly recommended

I wanna add the Commadore 64 and it's games to my earlier response of Pong

We had Pong for a while, then the Atari 2600. I would play Asteroids til my eyes would water so bad I could hardly see. Next console was the NES. Loved Tecmo Bowl and RC Pro Am. But the first game that blew my mind was Baseball Stars because you actually got to manage a roster and could sign and cut players.

Solidly good movie. My 8 year-old was a Vanellope Von Schweetz (sp?) freak for like 18 months. She was Vanellope for two Halloweens.
This is her just a little before that time, when I had this 400 pound monster in the old livingroom:

Yours?
But that's on an NES. My cabinet playing is limited

Commodore 64
Good call!
I had a friend who ended up a computer engineer (via Texas A&M of course) who in the heyday of the C64 had a modem, all the long distance codes, and the nerdy know-how. I had almost every game there was for the cost of the blank diskettes. Probably 300 disks I had to keep hidden from my parents. (Dad was wise enough to have smelled something fishy had he found them).
Those were some GREAT GREAT games bitd. I would definitely say that a C64 deserves to be included in anyone's console lineup.

They're making this game again. Saw it the other day toy shopping with my son.

Now who taught you to right-click?

I used the NES advantage joystick when playing contra. I once beat the game without dying a single time but it took me a while. Just push the turbo button and let it rip

Those things were cool. We didn't have one, but we had the NES satellite. You set it in the middle of the room and connected a controller to it for "wireless." Had a turbo switch too.
The NES Max was pretty sweet too. Turbo buttons and the D-pad was like an analog track pad

Operation wolf. How I loved and hated that game. It was not easy iirc
Another stupidly hard game: top gun. I could never land on the carrier
