Why? There's nothing special about the state. It's full of rednecks and baptists too, and no one wants them in such close proximity.

Yeah, but those rednecks just strike me as having a lot of pride about the state. I practically spend every Thanksgiving in Birmingham and everyone strikes me as being pretty proud of Alabama.

Texas arrogance is hilarious

everyone knows Texas belongs to Mexico/the cartels

thanks to Texas not controlling their own border, we have cartel drugs all the way to Chicago

the Sinaloa cartel owns Texas

So basically everyone who lives in Louisiana hates it. Sounds about right.

I've never been able to tell the difference between East Texas and Western La. Far more similarities than differences.

You're damn straight I'm proud that we keep the SEC in a drunken stupor on Saturdays in the Fall.

You must have never lived anywhere that you can be proud of. Lemme guess... You're from Louisiana?

No, I'm just not narrow-minded enough to think it doesn't get any better than the place I was born in.

I got a response from fawx, WCA, pat, and roger on that. The only one missing from the fab five is dwag.

I hope you kids were taking notes.

Again, because you live Louisiana. That actually IS the correct response in your case.

Because there's so much pride in being from a shithole town like Odessa.

Odessa sucks. The combination of DFW, Houston, Austin and San Antonio all within 4.5 hours of each other makes the state as a whole tough to beat though. Thats 4 of the 11 largest cities in America.

DFW and Houston are great if you're into disconnected urban sprawl.

I like Houston, but if I could choose where to live, it'd be a little ways down the list.

I've traveled more within Texas than most folks that were born there, and plenty of it is terrible... But most people live in or around the 4 large cities, and they're not terrible.

Texas has its shite together, brah... Great economy, low cost of living, plenty of businesses moving there, great public schools, etc.

Austin and San Antonio are cool. The rest of the state sucks.
