I heard that a while back people would ask Americans flying out of the country where they were they were from.

Most said America.

Those from Texas said Texas.

Those from Dallas said Dallas.




A little local pride is a good thing.

Anything more than a little is ignorance, usually.

Nothing wrong with having pride in your location. Hell, if more people did, there would be much less trash on the streets.

Big difference between some pride and arrogance though.

I like Alabama just fine, but there's plenty of other places that I would rather live. Definitely not "one of the best states to live in".

Being from Dallas I've heard this too. I heard traveling abroad in the 80s and 90s, Dallas was such a popular tv show in Europe that people loved you if you were from Dallas.
