Oh, I believe the Alaska one. The ones who actually want to live there do tend to love it.

Utah, Montana, Wyoming, and AK with more state pride than Texans?

The people I know from Alaska, Utah and Wyoming all absolutely love it because they're real outdoorsy types. I believe it. I assume Montana is the same.

Plus Texas is full of transplants too. Texas born and bred, it's got to be like 105% on the pride meter.

Naturalized Texan here (born in Alabama).

Think I broke the damn state pride meter long ago

Texas, North Dakota, and Rhode Island are the ones that surprise me.

I figured Texas would be higher for obvious reasons. I figured North Dakota would be lower because people are always talking about how it's an arctic wasteland. Rhode Island is shocking at a mere 18% because it's a beautiful, quaint little state. I'm honestly shocked not only that its the lowest, but that it's low at all.

I'm legitimately surprised by Louisiana as well.

I was surprised by Rhode Island too. I guess it could have something to do with being close to Boston and New York without being Boston and New York. Inferiority complex?

That's sort of what I was thinking. Maybe the state has one enormous small town/big dreams complex (like a country song come to life)? My uncle's wife is from Rhode Island and sort of does the whole self-deprecating "it's small and there's nothing to do" routine, but I think it's pretty cool.

Texas seems low too based on how much we boast, but 68% is near the top.

Because of our awesome economy there are a lot of non-native Texans. Something crazy like 5 million Califonians have moved here in the past decade and a thousand people had immigrated a day from the rest of the country. Once they start having kids, that number will return to its rightful place.

Alabama is one that surprised me. I figured they'd at least hit the 50% mark.

I don't remember jack or shite about the state since my folks moved to Texas a couple weeks after I was born. Military obligations.

Why? There's nothing special about the state. It's full of rednecks and baptists too, and no one wants them in such close proximity.

I mean it's a bit of a loaded question. Cost aside and as a young single male myself, Id like living in Hawaii, NYC, LA. But Dallas and Houston to me are almost just as fun and much cheaper. Also to raise a family I'd rather be in Texas than anywhere else. Depending on how you think about the question might lead you to discount what you answer.

You must have never lived anywhere that you can be proud of. Lemme guess... You're from Louisiana?
