thank the Almighty we don't have "informed, educated' 20-yr olds running the country...I cant believe the audacity of 18, 19, 20 and 21 year olds thinking they have a "grasp" on life and feel the "oppressed"....GAG! They don't know anything; NOTHING about life. Yep, continue to pass judgment on people and their ways of the 19th century (no, I don't support slavery--what a disgusting thing, even though it still occurs in the world...how about raising hell about that!!) using 21st century logic...Just remember, jerk-wads, the kind of "world" you "think" you want can never be...there will all ways be someone in charge doing what they want...and throughout history, that means killing anyone that gets in the way....anyone. Go ask your buddies about Che, Lenin, Mao, Castro, and the like. You think you are "oppressed" here....go hang out in some place that those guys aforementioned used to run and see if you are "oppressed" or not...so, go to school, do your studies and SHUT UP!!!

I'm glad the students voted to take the flag down. Once the KKK came on campus to protest the movement to remove the flag last Friday, that really put the cause to fly the flag in perspective for everyone.

CJ Johnson's quote also puts it in perspective:

"It sickens me when I see [a Confederate flag] on people’s cars on campus. If you have the Confederate flag on your vehicle, you have a problem,” Johnson said. “And I don't care if it's socially what you believe in or it's morally what you believe in or you're just doing it for s---s and giggles. It's just the fact of what it stands for. It's almost like you might as well put a tag on the front of your car that says 'n-----.' That's really what it boils down to. You might as well just put a big tag on the front of your car or hang a big flag on the back of your car and just say the N-word.”

But let's be honest, there's nothing more offensive on campus than our offensive line and our rushing attack.

Removing the state flag accomplishes absolutely nothing. It's pointless. It's like asking a racist to apologize for using racial slurs. He'll still be a racist whether he apologizes or not.

So.....them wanting a flag changed means they support Fedel Castro?

No, it means they are a bunch of p*ssies who can't grasp the fact that a flag didn't do anything to them or anyone else.

Not good for the students. I don't care about the flag but this is bullshite. Disagree with it, sure. Hell, protest if you want. But you have absolutely no right to take down the state flag. I don't give a shite if it has a swastika on it, as long as you're receiving state funding, you fly it.

This goes past protesting a flag, it's something that's completely disrespectful to the state the school represents. In this case it isn't about what's on the flag, it's the fact that it IS THE STATE FLAG.

All that.

I suggest that you do some research. More US flags were flown than Battle Flags. I guess we won't let facts enter this discussion.

Student Senates, Faculty Senates, etc think they are important.

In reality they are all nerds that have no contribution to society.

Good for the students. The flag isn't the original state flag. It was adopted in 1924. It was changed then and can be changed again.

and here is the problem, thinks he knows something, give opinion, is wrong. Flag changed in 1894. Sure a state can change it's flag, but students at a state university vote not to display the official flag of the state based on their feelings, maybe they should vote to deny all state funding in protest?
