I've never agreed with anything more. I don't understand why so many people defend them.

This is the first time ever being labeled a liberal for me. Guess if the shoe fits and could either be a bad thing or good thing depending on the company you keep. I guess after you pull your head out of the sand to see what is.happening around you and you start accepting fact over propoganda, then you start moving towards the middle.
I do share some point of views but your reasoning is purely a selfish conservative one and from what I've read, is a small factor in this whole big mess. There are other complicated in depth issues going on here other than PP souly regardless of the faculties percieved political affiliations.
I have nothing against lofton. Really I don't. Should be able to speak his mind without reprisal. But we know in this current climate doing so you are sticking your neck out.

So in other words Loftin should be a coward and not step on the liberals' toes, amirite?

It's no surprise to me that liberal college professors are upset by a Chancellor that did something against Planned Parenthood.
What is surprising to me is that Planned Parenthood has been authorized to partner with Mizzou up to this point.
Screw Planned Parenthood.

What I was implying killz is that I was puting it out there that yes we have freedom of speech, but be prepared for what could possibly come next. Just because you hold your tongue doesn't make you a coward, some times it's a sign of your intelligence and when you don't some times it's a sign that you just don't give a shite about anyone elses opinions or thoughts. Much like what's going on here. He has no place referencing anything to do with PP. My understanding along the lines of this notice that you brought up is that Lofton is making financial cuts to this department and there are individuals livelihoods at stake hence the lack of confidence vote. Amirite? Or wrong? It has nothing to do with liberal views vs conservative views. That's my quick understanding of what is part, just a part of the issues surrounding Lofton. I really haven't dove headfirst into digging up articles to read.
I don't hold anything personally against you for your opinions on abortion. You see that a little different than myself. But you also don't know what it's like being impregnated because of a rape and forced to follow through with the birth of a child as a result of a horrific crime like that. I don't either. I'm middle of the road with abortion. In certain cases I can see having it performed. If you just went out and got knocked up then don't want the kid, that's different, that's not good enough for me in my mind to terminate a pregnancy. But again, there is also the other side of it. PP is also about preventing pregnancy as well as those same drugs help some women with difficult cycles. It's not to abort a child, not always.
I am Methodist once Southern Baptist. I do own guns, more than one and that includes "assault" rifles and (gasp) semiauto handguns. I've been a member of the NRA most of my life. I've voted Republican since I could vote. So if that's Liberal, guilty as charged. I know and have friends of both sides and conservatives are about the most hypocritical people I've ever been around. Liberals always wanting to go over the top and not address the real issues. They want the easy way out all the time. It gets tiresome in the middle.

Yes. Yes, it does. But more of us are probably in the middle of the political spectrum than on the fringes. Sadly, there are few candidates who can publicly identify with the middle, because if they do, they'd never get through a primary race due to the fricked up nature of our political system.

He said "half-empty". Clearly you fail at math if you think that half of ~ 101,500 equals 35,000

Extreme right is REACTIONARY while extreme left is RADICAL
Pure socialism (as in a pure democracy where every single individual has a vote and you have a pure "tyranny of the majority") is extreme left.
Communism is an offshoot of socialism in which power is consolidated in a "ruling elite" while everyone else lives at the same standard as their neighbors.
Fascism is more representative of what China is than communism is.

Plus we all know that 100,000+ longhorns yelling is as loud as 30,000 of any other fanbase.

liberals are weak. They have no backbone.
Or perhaps they do have backbone. They want to force the death of babies onto people who believe it's fricking barbaric as if more conservative people are the problem. They want to riot in the streets and lynch a great man for putting an end to campus sanctioned abortions.
Loftin took a fricking stand. He had balls. And now he's going to be fired for putting an end to the murder of babies on Mizzou's campus.
We're going to fire the one Chancellor who would support Mizzou sports for a long time and attempt to set up Mizzou as contenders all because we care more about killing fricking babies.
That's the truth.
If you're liberal and disagree...I don't give a frick.

100 percent correct. You're a good one, Hawg.
Libs can dish it but they certainly can't take ridicule of their ridiculous beliefs. Weird how libs will defend the right to kill unborn babies but go on a hunger strike for a convicted felon on death row.

As a leftist, godless, dyed in the wool liberal, I can tell you that the PP aspect of this whole story is just more subterfuge ginned up by the Christian Right.
Loftin is likely not performing his duties to the level expected by the faculty/BOC.
He seems like an alright guy, and it's cool that he's involved in the aspects of college life. Perhaps though, that's all he does. In other words he's just a face, with no real substance.
Sticking his neck out in regards to the PP thing, while admirable, probably wasn't the best move for a guy who might be rubbing folks the wrong way.
Regardless, I don't think losing a chancellor is that big of a deal. There are many more moving parts to a university than the visible guy at the top. If he does leave, someone else will come in and the machine will grind on.
In other words, if Mizzou athletics continues its downward spiral, it won't be because of the chancellor, PP, or leftist "SJWs".
It will be because of shitty coaching.
